They’ve already said that there are no difficulty options. The game plays how it plays. I believe they’ve said it’s most in line w/ Dark Souls 3 in terms of difficulty, and that’s considered one of the “easier” Soulsborne games. If that’s not something that appeals to you, then it’s not the game for you.

There’s buying a house, which can be done “affordably” (in as much as housing can be affordable), and buying an actual mansion within walking distance of the walk of fame. I can see why even supporters might be mad at that, and the mixed messages it sends.
It's always interesting to see this sort of thing (liberties that game designers take), but it really doesn't bother me in games. I don't particularly care how realistic or sensible these types of things are.
