TL/DR the choice of difficulty can make character/player progression feel less impactful and you might feel tempted to change it when you struggle (which I assume is a normal reaction to struggle). If you (literally you, liffie) were to make a game and I could play it, I’d want to play exactly what you intended,

You truly can’t see how it can be a detriment to some of the players for that option to exist other than the assumption that it’s some weird ego thing?

When we talk about game design (single or multiplayer), the term ‘economy’ is used for anything related to exchanging something for something else. At least, that’s the term that’s used by game companies here.

You got that wrong : you need to paint the wall and point the camera at YOU watching it dry

Have you tried telling him that you personally are sad/disturbed that he won’t put it on? Sometimes kids respond better when they understand that it’s hurtful (I lack a better word) for their parents/someone else. Or at least ask you if he can play with no headphones...

I remember my mother breaking down at some point

I’m not sure being honest will convince you that taking the bus can be better than taking your car (“can” being the keyword here), and that’s ignoring the benefits in term of city pollution, traffic, etc. and the psychological hassle of taking care of said car and dealing with parking space. Same thing with a bike: 5

I’m not saying you’re not right, but I -still- listen to Hollow Knight’s ost, and my girlfriend, who doesn’t play or care about games, listen to it too. I have fond memories of HK’s music, but from watching the video you just linked, it might just be quality over quantity, because it does feel quite empty in a bunch

I feel like they’re the type of guys who just do too much (or a lot), naturally. For Hollow Knight, they cut a full zone (forest of bones) and had to reduce the size of the map. I feel like they’re giving themselves the leisure of fulfilling their ambitions, something that was not entirely possible with the

Paying for extra exp, gold and w/e impact gameplay imo... Microtransactions to save time feel absolutely horrible to me. I just hope they don’t shove it in our face

The voice of reason, right here.

I’m not sure “weird” is the right word... I’m absolutely glad that they don’t show too much. If you think of it just in term of sales/money, than I guess you could say it’s illogical, but with BotW’s success, I don’t think they’re being forced to show anything they don’t want to show. They know it will sell anyway.

Woul

The music’s “distortion”, title art and new tech/tools’ color are very reminiscent of the Twilight realm in LoZ: Twilight Princess; I’m assuming that the Twilight Realm or its equivalent “crumbles” (or merge?) on Hyrule and Link will find new powers in the ruins, and maybe be helped by Twili(s).

Ganon attempted to take

I’m so glad they’re not designing games for you

Man, I wish that wasn’t true. I truly do

Roll to go faster?

Like Ocarina’s of Time roll spam (or far too many games)?

No thank you.

I believe they wanted it to feel more alive/immersive and less meta, if that makes sense? Characters “live” on their own, not exactly waiting for you to act.

Definitely was always a vibe to me too. I love it though: instead of being randomly fed story that might interest me or not, I just naturally focus on the parts that interest me (which is kind of what we do in real life, I guess?).

Same here. Never really had someone care about it too.

Although it seems too SFW for us, I assume letting it too open would give “companionship” to some people with dangerous ideas... I think? I also found it limiting, but I’ve heard so many batshit stuff from people that I still think limiting it is the best move...

Man...I had the same thought. I already thought cooldowns were pretty long, which really didn’t feel satisfying when you can’t or fail to pull off cooldown reducing “situation”.
