Yeah, they really should force the owners to post the list of shit they require of you to do before you leave. I’m totally okay picking up after myself if there’s a smaller cleaning fee, but the higher the fee, the less I’m inclined to pitch in.
I was specifically referring to the astronomical ones that are clearly significantly higher than necessary. Secondly, as another commenter on this thread has pointed out, if it’s part of the business, it should be included in the advertised rate. Breaking a huge chunk of the cost of the stay into a separate fee is…
More than anything its the parent relationship. If you have a real relationship with the parents, and you know they are competent and have remotely similar values as you, then taking care of your kid for a night is not that big a deal.
I’ve been looking recently, and seen some short-term rentals that list a price, and also list that the price doesn’t include the tax. Those taxes are often quite high because customers of the sites don’t usually vote in the area where they’re renting.
And this is if you get past the mile long chore list and cleaning fee that costs more than the rental itself.
That and the oversecheduling of this generation. They don’t have the time.
Great tutorial, thank you, especially with the ph0tos it was easy to follow. A few things to add, if I may? The round bowl pumps have been known to migrate to one side, and while leaning, the water pumps right out of the bowl and drains it dry. (Also—I never use any of the fountain caps as they seem to pump too high).…
My simple, non-parent mind would’ve chalked the decline up to friends always being reachable. With separate calling devices (no more line taken up by internet), video chats, games with online multiplayer, etc. friends are reachable in numerous ways all the time. I probably wouldn’t have pushed for late night hangouts…
Its easy to take a holier-than-thou stance in an online post. The reality is there are people out there in the unfortunate situation of not having put their assets in a trust, but having a loved one that needs full time care and they have no way to pay for it beyond maybe 6-12 months. At that point the only options…
You definitely have never had to face liquidating all your parents worked for to get them basic care when they are old.
Medicare is primarily funded by employee contributions, just as Social Security is. - The big question is WHY is the U.S. the only country that is corruptly trapped in a massive health “insurance” scheme, instead of being in universal healthcare like every other major country on earth? -- Universal healthcare…
And good luck getting Long Term Healthcare to pay out a nickel. My parents were both bedridden for the last 5 years of their lives and LTC wouldn’t allow them into a nursing home. My dad paid into a LTC account for them both for 30 years and got $0.00 dollars back.
Wait, are you suggesting we take our parents out back behind the barn and put them down before they need elderly care?
My parents pay extra for multiple logins at once. Are you saying that’s not paying for what you use?
I have a daughter who currently lives out of state. She works and goes to school at night. She doesn’t make much and rent/food/gas are the priority. I pay for simultaneous streaming on several screens deliberately so she can watch. If Netflix knows their US customer base well, they will realize that getting too…
For my mother in law who is in a fixed income, yes. We share our streaming services with her because she isn’t able to work so she doesnt have a lot to do and streaming is a luxury.
No, but I liked being able to let my elderly mother on a fixed income share my streaming accounts. If Netflix is going to be anti-sharing, it’d be nice if they offered a compromise, like an additional fee (say half-price) to add another user outside the home. It’d be a win for them, because my mom won’t be able to…
I’m paying for my son’s college tuition, room & board, car & car insurance and health insurance. Why should I need to pay for TWO accounts while he is away at college? He’s part of my family.
When every studio and publisher has created their own platform and we’re expected to buy a subscription to all of them? Yes.
