This is exactly the sort of thing I want to happen with my expensive electronic devices, to arbitrarily and completely stop working due to software concerns entirely outside of my control.
It’s great. Really.
And do what exactly? Tell them they can’t make violent games anymore? Let’s just get rid of violent movies or tv shows then. Or here’s a novel idea: revise gun laws so a random teenager can’t buy it off the street and shoot his school to pieces.
Maybe a meeting with Molyneux could create an ouroboros of lies so unending we won’t hear from either ever again?
Can someone confirm there are all sorts of one liners and pop culture references before I impulse buy to find out?
While I certainly understand that the way videogames “glorify” violence can make people uncomfortable, and there is absolutely some stuff worth unpacking there, this strikes me as completely ass-backwards.
$10 million was what they sued for, not what they offered.
I don’t understand why you can’t just right-click on the image and “Open image in new tab”. I never used the “View Image” button before, because that’s the way I’ve always done it on any webpage.
“...and that’s when the nanobots dissolve and supercharge the circulatory system. Anyway, what’s your speciality?”
Sorry, this is America, a wretched, failing empire. Healthcare, here, is a privilage not a right, so... mental health care is only for the wealthy. Gun ownership is the basis of True ‘Merican Culture, and no amount of sanity will ever change that.
Two things...
I think numpad notation is better, because there’s less risk for misunderstanding.
If only they’d bother releasing this on PC, I’d happily pay full price.
Until that time, not interested in forking over for an XBox One. Nothing against the console specifically—it’s just that the only games it has that I want are exclusives, and that’s not enough to drive a purchase.
It can be a tricky thing to retroactively judge people based on contemporary social attitudes. In this case I think it’s right that the award is being withheld. It may have been the 70s and 80s, but Bushnell’s behaviour would still have been considered sexist. People were just more likely to shrug sexist behaviour off…
Maybe when writing about a meme, you can leave out the part about the really upsetting and violating ways the technology in question is being used? Or save it for a separate article? Because otherwise it comes off as very tone-deaf.
Saw this...yep, we’re done. Once Trump gets a *handle* on this nothing will be “real” except what he says. And his followers will believe him.
What a bizarre article. Hey, here’s this problem that affects women in gross and disturbing ways, let’s see how we can turn it into a dumb Nicolas Cage meme!
But pink’s a giiiiirl color!
I so want to do this, but I can’t tell if it’s because I like it or because I want it as a fuck you to our (gaming) culture stigmatizing stuff like that and making me avoid the color like the pest as a kid.
I am so ultimately disappointed in Overwatch. It’s a great game, don’t get me wrong, but they put so much time into building a world that just exists as posters hung in the background. Also, do they ever explain the fiction behind why Overwatch agents are fighting each other and with their enemies? Even FFXIV, when it…
