Not very far, considering Seinfeld and Simpsons were both 90s shows or earlier.

how far down the list of best TV shows ever do you have to go before you get to even the first pre-1999 entry?

I maintain that the turn of the Millennium represented the nadir in modern cultural history. In TV we saw the unholy rise of the ‘reality show’ and, its close relative, the ‘talent’ show, fashion was dominated by the size zero/anorexic Rachel Zoe look, the musical charts were being topped by boy bands and Lolita-like

it’ll only make sense if you watch Meteor Man, Blank Man, Batman and Robin, Spawn, and Catwoman. In that order otherwise you will be lost. Oh yeah, Kazaam too.

In the interviews I’ve heard with her, she is very clear about NOT playing the mental side but the probabilities and odds. Her expertise and background is analytics, not client work.

You could be Freud

I don’t know her work, but lots of psych PhDs spend most of their research time crunching stats. Being able to understand both probability and cognitive bias is probably quite helpful in poker.

“Swansons.”

I’m not against the change, I just think they could have tried harder on the name. It still has Boy in it, they didn’t do enough.

As a scientist, I will always associate BSA with Bovine Serum Albumin.

“Scouts BSA” sounds terrible, and presumably the “B” still stands for “Boy,” so it accomplishes nothing. They should get back to the drawing board.

I didn’t see Avengers 2, but I did see Civil War - that pretty much caught me up with who Vision and Scarlet Witch are plus the conflict that makes them all drift apart. Its basically Avengers 2.5, so see that instead. Black Panther will introduce you to the characters and that they have cool tech, but its not really

It picks up shortly after the Ragnarok stinger. Civil War and GOTG fill most most of what you need. GOTG2, you might want to see, because it best explains the emotional state Peter Quill is in when we see him here. Homecoming develops one of the key relationships of this movie. Black Panther is backstory on Wakanda

My dad skipped all of those and the only thing that really confused him were the Civil War references in Infinity War.

ehhhh Ultron is only super important for background on Scarlet Witch and Vision. Black Panther and GOTG2 aren’t super relevant, plot-wise, but def see the former just because it’s good as hell. Honestly if you’ve seen GOTG1, Civil War, and Doctor Strange, you’ll be pretty prepared.

You really only need Civil War, Ragnorak and the first GotG. Age of Ultron kind of helps, but you could probably get by on context clues. GotG vol. 2 just sets up where the Guardians are at the start of the movie (mostly Nebula). Black Panther introduces you to all of the Wakanda-specific characters who appear and

I mean, you might be right about it being too difficult to make the legal case for, but it should probably be said that LOTR is obviously a way bigger hit than something like Double Jeopardy (which I haven’t seen or even heard of until now) and I think there’s still at least a strong theoretical argument to be made

Don’t read a lot of newspapers, do ya?

The kind of heathen who copy edits for a living. As someone else said, if you use double spaces in a piece that’s going to be professionally edited or typeset, someone like me has to remove them all (whatever we think of them personally, the major style guides made a hard and fast decision on the issue a long time

Part of my job is reading/editing stuff from my other team members. I’m an old, meaning I learned to type on a typewriter that works just fine without electricity. So I’m a two-spacer. Mostly. Most of my younger colleagues are one-spacers. Mostly.
