People can't do both? They can't tell gay people that they want their rights recognized by law and show other religious people how stupid it is to hate them? Why are people only allowed to do one thing at a time?

You missed the part where this was about using someone that you aren't attracted to and use them for sex while stringing them along. I'm pretty sure that is the exact opposite of going against society's conditioning and finding someone attractive.
