And I Love Dick got lousy ratings from viewers. Amazon does pay some attention to those ratings - in general, they do pick the highest rated ones - but it's not lockstep. They also have an eye on prestige dramas and awards season as good PR.

Why? Netflix DVD is still a good bargain and convenient enough. Best part is, you don't have to run around the internet figuring out where stuff is. It comes to DVD eventually (except The Man in the High Castle I guess, but I have a friend's Amazon account for that.)

Depends whether the ratings trends continue the downward trajectory they've been on for years. It's not so much the Oscars, it's that broadcast is simply losing its audience, especially the younger viewers that advertisers want to reach.

If there's a wrong line in a script, the actor recites the wrong line. They aren't being paid to think!
