How many Americans even know any “folk songs”? TV jingles ARE our folk songs. And that list just goes to show how today’s shows don’t measure up to a grand, epic song like the Gilligan’s Island theme.

Voyager has the best opening sequence of all the Star Treks but it’s the worst series, go figure. Seeing that opener makes me sad, wishing the show had been worthy of such a soaring and grand introduction.
If the auto industry sold tanks to the general public, then yeah you’d have a point.
So the price of a soul in Congress tops out at $11,900? Seems like chump change. If I was going to take a bribe from an evil organization, I’d expect them to add a couple zeroes to that figure. Yeesh.
Scoff all ya want, but movie theaters are going to embrace VR tech (they have to if they want to give people any motive to get off their couches and turn off Netflix) and the Avatar franchise is perfect for VR. It’s all about environment, visuals and sensation. Characters and story are secondary and eventually will be…
Somebody get Jeremy Piven a good show.
Naw, they want Star Trek. But not stuck behind a paywall.
Not acting, I hope.
If Amazon can adapt The Man in the High Castle basically successfully (got better in season two if you bailed on it), then Snow Crash and Ringworld should both be entirely possible.
Netflix realizes that, sure. CBS doesn’t seem to. Except that they do, and they want to deliver Star Trek to the whole world themselves. Not through Netflix. They just haven’t built out their service yet but that is definitely the plan. None of these companies are doing this to be nice. They are doing it because most…
CBS only extorts American audiences for now.
Sorry naysayers, looks like this one’s a keeper.
Must be fun to be a Mormon and get excited about colored sugar water.
This is why I kind of like it when Netflix yanks something. It motivates me to finally watch the damn thing. I never would have bothered to see all the Hercule Poirot episodes I missed if Netflix weren’t losing it soon. Great show...
Yeah well, we can all just get fussier. I recently sampled and rejected Community. That’s right, COMMUNITY! It didn’t meet my ultra-high standards (to sitcommy).
Sorry, the Find My Phone feature is too good to lose. Even if I’ve only ever used it to trace my phone back to where I left it...dammit I’m SURE I looked right there! Argh...
I’ve seen the story before and the crazy thing is, I can’t recall who the killer is!
David Suchet or gtfo.
Derrrrrrr
I would love a series that was basically just one long night in NYC that was like Poussey’s last episode. Best OitNB ever.
