If you only see them once a year, tell them you drop kicked that stupid job because you’re getting a better one after the first of the year. Okay it may be way after the first of the year, but by the time you see them again, you’ll be employed and they’re none the wiser, right?

The guy on the Calumet can? There’s always those guys who stand outside of cigar stores too.

Uh oh, I hope those old guys don’t go on the warpath. On the other hand if they try to scalp Trump, they might just end up with an ugly hairpiece. Maybe they should all smoke the peace pipe.

YouTube is funded by ads, so why wouldn’t it eventually be blanded down to appease the advertisers and end up much like broadcast TV (which YouTube is stealing the ad revenue from)? Ditto for Facebook. I’ve been waiting for this to happen, and I’m only surprised it’s taken so long.

Oh lord, I’m flashing back to the little tin Hitler types who moderated Television without Pity. Trust me, bringing in actual human beings is no guarantee of avoiding a witch hunt. Just the opposite.

Yeah, and just to add an important point in case anyone isn’t familiar with Hannah Arendt: thinking of Nazis as some sort of exotic “other” is dangerous and wrong. It’s good to admit that “if I had been born in Germany in the early 20th Century, I could have been a Nazi.” There is no inherent personality trait or

Work that into Walter White’s backstory. It would be a whole season in itself.

As a San Francisco resident, all I could think is, that’s a city bus? Holy cow, Atlanta has nice buses! If a MUNI bus had done that, it would have hit three pedestrians and then broken down.

FX is moving all their stuff to Hulu, where Fox has part ownership. I don’t think Fox is in this for the long run. They’ll sell out to Disney, and then their content will be on Disney streaming. Or they’ll sell out to Comcrap and then their content will stay on Hulu, with Comcrap being the boss of Hulu because

I already watched GotG2 from Netflix. On DVD. What a crazy world. Why are DVDs beating streaming releases, and by months? Maybe I should stop jumping on every fresh DVD that drops and be patient and wait for streaming.

They do that too often for me to believe that it’s just licensing. I think they found that yanking movies gets people to actually watch them - artificial scarcity - but it’s not because they lost the license, so they just add them back next month and play the same over again.

I still get Netflix DVDs so many times when Netflix adds a movie to streaming, I’ve already seen it from them - on DVD!

Looks questionable from the previews. Probably a good call not to release that one in the theaters.

Netflix doesn’t remove movies so much as the owners of those movies remove them because Netflix is destroying their business by stealing all the paying customers. They have a ways to go in making up for it with their own movie production. Eventually I think many movie producers will just go under (movie theaters are

I think everything from FX and Fox is being moved to Hulu, which Fox has part ownership in. However, whether Fox has any ownership in Fox remains to be seen. The whole shebang could get hoovered up by Disney or maybe Comcrap, which might turn Hulu into the Fox/NBC show when Disney yanks all the ABC content (if it

Huh, I would have expected heavy cloud but no rain.

It was kind of cheap-looking but I have to wonder if the miniseries idea might be the right one. If Netflix or Amazon spent millions on a limited series, it would probably work out for them.

I dunno I think Netflix may have lost the license to that permanently. Did it pop up on Acorn?

Hercule Parrot. Hercule Porat. Hercule Pwa....?

There’s a couple of Star Wars fans in my family that I know are gonna drag all of us to see this movie on Xmas day...oh well...lots of scenes with Poe, right?
