In the fall of 1984, my Vanagon was pushed off the road by a large pickup that missed a corner on a rainy day. My van ended up on down a small incline on its right side. I ended up hanging from my seat belt.

No. There are MANY things to dislike Tesla over, and rightly so. I’d not buy one now, and I also get annoyed by Musk.

Doesn’t want: Anything that’s been tainted by Elon Musk.

Pretty soon titles for an article on something like the new Corvette will be: “Man in Tesla spots new Corvette”

Agreed, it was just used for clickbait. Tesla’s response, which is right in the Jalopnik post, was basically saying we weren’t actually affected by this.

Of all the victims of this attack, Tesla is the one that matters the least.

Now playing

Astronaut on this thing? With that question my assumption is you haven’t been following the Starship/Superheavy booster program.

I’m going to go out on a limb and assume you’re not a bad faith troll, because boy howdy is this take hot.

I wasn’t commenting on Torch’s covering/not-covering the success/failure - my comment was around his perspective of Elon-stans objecting to covering the explosion at all. I agree that covering the explosion is certainly *part* of the story - and yes pretty cool to watch too.

The idea that there are Tesla stans is undeniable. But, you can scrape any comment section to cherry pick comments that confirm just about any existing bias that one might have. Therefore, being able to find Tesla stan comments is no great journalist/blog achievement (probably less than a mediocrity). Constantly postin

I apologize for the salt, I definitely could’ve done without it. Its been a bad week and I know better than to vent in a comment section. You don’t deserve it, I’m sorry.

I think calling people that pointed out the media coverage was focusing on the explosion, not the landing “minions of Elon” is a bit rude. Yes, the guy claiming there wasn’t an explosion is obviously wrong, but the other comments seem pretty reasonable.

Ha! I assume you read the first sentence and skipped to “reply”?

I think this isn’t just an Elon-stans thing - it is a media thing. It has long been a media perspective that “If it bleeds it leads” - the media never focus on the positive aspects of stories. Covering the explosion is certainly a part of the story but I have already seen multiple news outlet stories this morning

Fuck off Torch. The fuck are your bringing stans into this for? Can you not write a single article without including that? No one gives a fuck about whether it exploded or not in terms of how successful the launch was. Elon Musk knows this and no one who gives a single fuck about space flight does either. This is a

Are you trying to say that you deserve to be ran over if you block a road? If there is prosecution for blocking a road, it needs to be done by a jury, not by someone running them over. Dying for that is obviously not a reasonable punishment.

You can’t escalate, but the person you’re responding to is talking about self-defense if you have a reasonable fear that you’re in a life-threatening situation. If a mob of people surrounds your car, breaks your windows, and tries to drag you out of the driver’s seat while screaming “Sacrifice the unbeliever!”, you

As a native Tennessean, this makes me so fucking ashamed. Why is it that my home state also has to go along with blatent, racist bullshit? It makes me ashamed to tell people I’m from there.

Isn’t self defence in a truly life-threatening situation legal already anyways?

This thing is pretty attractive in that funky orange. Too bad pretty much no one will choose to buy it. But then again with the cash to buy this might come some maturity...
