to be fair, Genesis does the thing where they come to your house and drop off another Genesis when yours needs servicing so maybe you don’t have to ever interact with an Elantra driver

don’t force you to make two trips to Target.

Exactly, manufacturers outside of the USA build tons of small cars. The American market is upside down to the rest of the world.

Because it’s economically unfeasible to make small cars, even if people wanted them.

The regular Golf and Spark are dead.

Probably last year for the Kia Rio.

Some of those that work forces…

Not surprised to see Tesla there. I wonder how many of the posters and voters actually saw a car with build quality issues with their own eyes, and how many are repeating what they’ve read online...

But you’re ok with the drunks enjoying the roads though?

Easy NP, apparently I am an asshole owner as a tune and opening up the exhaust would be a plus to me, not something to fix. Deleting the cat would be a different story.

Eh, we all make mistakes, especially when documenting every move one makes. Live and learn. Always have a fire extinguisher handy and water probably isn’t your friend - unless it’s a campfire.

Seconded. He may buy shitty cars, but he can pretty much get anything running even when its better to just crush the car.

Buying shitty cars, sure. Working on shitty cars, okay. But he’s surprisingly good at it. He gets those zombies running, somehow. Gotta give credit where it’s due, cranky.

I think your definition of “mass production” is a bit iffy considering the current chip shortage. There is little chance any new truck, let alone electric, will be immediately available in the next year or so.

I’m guessing you don’t live anywhere near Texas, because I see Platinum and King Ranch F-150s and F-250s on the road every day, along with Laramie RAMs and whatever the high spec Chevy/GM is called.

Because, if I cannot go to a dealership, or log onto the internet and plunk down $75,000 for your electric truck, and either drive away with it or have it delivered in short order, you aren’t really mass-producing it.

I don’t think that’s been true for a while. Strictly comparing the cost to build vs the price the cars sell for Teslas have been profitable for quite a while, and not to forget that each car they sell also nets them a significant amount of carbon credits that they sell to other manufacturers.

Tesla’s smartest move was not focusing on the environmental benefits or cost-savings that come from trading ICE for electric power, but instead focusing on the performance advantages and exclusivity. GM was never going to be able to make that leap because GM was never going to be performance or luxury in a really

iirc that wasn’t a GM product, aftermarket conversion.

Finders, keepers is definitely a thing. I’ve got a bit of Skylab in my garage and NASA has never asked for it back. It’s not even very radioactive...now...
