Dead: The Lincoln Continental

The tenth-generation of the Lincoln Continental—reintroduced in 2016 after 14 years gone—will die again, Ford said

Plymouth Prowler Purple Metallic Charger with a Rainbow flag on the roof?  Hell yeah.

Both of those had driveable prototypes though, with the actual representative hardware in it (they did acceleration runs during the unveiling and allowed people to ride inside while doing so).

You know... I think you’re right about China. I didn’t even really think of that. It definitely makes a statement, just not a very tasteful one. It’s unfortunate because the rest of the car actually looks pretty decent. Maybe it’ll grow on me, but I really doubt it.

This will sell well in emerging markets such as China. People care more about image and making a statement than subtle style. They know that people from Europe and the US will still buy it because of the badge. It will sell just fine, but I agree, it’s hideous.

Whats bothering me most anout this car, is the “M3” is becoming a GT car or something.. its like.. not really a sports coupe shape anymore? No thanks?

Sorry to break it to you, but the M3 is slated to have the exact same front-end as the M4 pictured above. With all of the leaks and spy shots, I’m not sure what would make you think otherwise.

Entry from Justin’s diary:

Front end/grille styling trends are ridiculous.

90s Cars: We don’t actually need all of the grille area for our weak, lethargic engines, let’s do something unique, get rid of the grill altogether and hide the air intake slots under the bumper and elsewhere.

Small Noses Forever

BMW managed to create the only car that looks better WITH a front licence plate than without one.

Why though? It’s not for added cooling capacity - the crash bar for the front bumper still bisects the grille(s). Why not have small kidneys up top and a wide opening beneath - you know, like every current M car?

Is BMW just trying to build unattractive cars now? I understand that the Bangle era cars were polarizing, but there were some that I didn’t mind, and a couple that I actually liked - the Z4/Z4 Coupe for example. This though? I just don’t understand what they’re doing here. I give this design language about 2 years

1st gear: if self-driving cars eliminated 1/3 of fatalities, that would be about 13,000 lives saved per year in the US. That would be a truly wonderful thing.

Can we get some surplus M1A1 Main Battle tanks included as part of the next year’s budget, chief? I heard that tactic worked real well in China in the 80s LOL

The stupidity of phantamgoats post cannot be overstated... /smh

You’re right, totally different situation... The Chinese tank drivers clearly didn’t want to run over the protester.

“You are comparing the Chinese crackdown on protesters to what is happening now?”

What I got from this review was:

These prices seem deep into Acura & Volvo territory. Not sure why you would ever buy a VW SUV over an Acura or Volvo...
