Congratulations, Passengers. I now officially can't stand the sight of Jennifer Lawrence. I was pretty neutral-to-OK on her in general, hey I went to see Joy in theaters! But now I never want to see her face again, mostly due to this relentless, desperate promotion of a film that's not only garbage (check out the RT

Yeah, I mean my overall experience of the movie is positive. But I think its just a one watch and done for me, I can see it getting really grating if I went back to it again.
Anyway looking back at the awards circuit I forgot that the sole acting nomination went to Jennifer Jason Leigh. Really? All she did was say

Get on it! It's only 8 episodes.

Quarry is a different beast, it's more gritty and real world than the hyper graphic novel style of Banshee. So don't approach it expecting Banshee 2, but there is some great action in it, including an amazing one-take setpiece in the finale.

Well I'm stumping for Quarry, so we can console each other over our apparently obscure Cinemax shows.

QUARRY. Great character-driven action infused with racial and political tension in the post-Vietnam south. Some masterful action scenes, including a stunning one-take Vietnam massacre scene that easy rivals that True Detective sequence everyone here jerked off over.

Duh…Stranger Thongs

Obviously. It was basically an indie movie financed by George Lucas, so nobody could say anything.
On another note, watched the original Star Wars for the first time in years and only just noticed Leia is doing an English accent in her first couple of scenes, but drops it later on!

Watched The Hateful Eight on cable, which was…OK. I had my usual issues with the recent QT movies which is that they're overlong, too talky and self-indulgent, and Tarantino just has to obnoxiously insert himself into this thing of course (thankfully in voiceover form only, but still).
Anyway it was a great showcase

No, he just read some reviews of Passengers

Remember that show you didn't watch? It's back!

The latter - apparently he was contracted to do the film but tried to get out of it

Yeah you gotta figure after his various debacles on American History X, The Italian Job, and The Incredible Hulk, he's not exactly getting his pick of hot studio scripts anymore

Can someone let me know what date the backlash on these two is officially scheduled for? Thanks.

Eh, it was alright. Callback to Clark being a horndog in the first movie. Though going back to the headline, there isn't really that much to censor is there? Christmas Vacation is blatantly a lot tamer than the first two, obviously they wanted to go for the family audience this time. No boobs! And Eddie is just more

"Ha ha, Aquaman! Now I RULE Nebraska!"

Well he's playing a cad.

The band its impossible to google!

No shit. This guy would be slinging lattes if it weren't for comic books - Captain America, Fantastic Four, Snowpiercer, The Losers, Scott Pilgrim, even the faux superhero wannabe Push. Now imagine his career without all that!
