I really can’t wait to see the Tesla Stans rationalize this one.
Tesla continues to act like trash, weird nerds continue to defend Elon: Film at Eleven.
Man, this is a real Poe’s Law conundrum.
You’re going to hurt the Porsche-stans feelings. Accuracy is important: That’s a lot of money for a Tiguan with a detuned Golf R motor.
You talk as if they are different things.
That’s a lot of money for a Tiguan :p
Well, I need this.
Sweet Jesus.....
I’m sure hypothetically one could be had for $80-85k. But I bet virtually all the ones on “dealer lots” will be over $100k. Still a bargain compared to the competition. But, uh, not a “bargain.”
Why does this look like it was messily eating dark chocolate cake?
Yes, towing will severely reduce range in an EV pickup. Also yes, towing severly reduces range in a gas/diesel pickup.
The trick will be to make sure drivers don’t have to stop for 45 - 80 minutes (guessing really large battery packs for these trucks) every 150 miles. That reduced range isn’t such a pain in the ass…

Yep. The half-ton market seems ripe for electrification to me; the super-duty class not so much until storage density has gotten a lot better. Although the EV Hummer’s 1000+ lb/ft of torque is certainly enough to get a trailer started up a ramp...
For those in the last group, it’s often their job.
Me likey alot...
Towing is like group sex; most people talking about it aren’t actually doing it, and most of the people who are doing it are doing it a lot less and a lot less intensely than they’d have you believe, and the relatively few people who are doing it all the time have organized their lives so as to accommodate their…
I have some land in the southern US. In my state, you don’t need a license to hunt hogs and a permit for night shooting of feral hogs is trivial to get. I use an AR pattern rifle chambered in 300 Blackout and use standard capacity (30 round) magazines when I go and try to eliminate a hog infestation. I have to take…
