1st Gear:

We do, in fact, all remember the pedo guy comments.

Me too, Elon, but I imagine I could tolerate it a lot more for millions of dollars in annual compensation.

Yeah this has all the stink of a repo or yakuza deal written on it.

The “Stolen in Japan” parts is what grabbed my attention. Things in Japan do not get stolen very often. When I was there I felt like I could pass out on the sidewalk with $100 bills sticking out of my pockets and nobody would have taken a single one of them. Truth be told, that scenario would well represent my time in

He should say he had Carlos Ghosn in the hatch

That sucks, but would you rather find out the hard way that the criminals would be happy to send you to the ER with a lead pipe to the face, knife to the gut or worse, a bullet to the head?

Unfortunately, everyone else who shares the road gets to be a beta tester too, whether they want to be or not. You thought you were driving to work, but you are really providing system inputs to see if the Tesla will react properly or not. Just have to hope your test inputs don’t “crash the system” - you might not be

I’ve noticed that’s a problem with only one window being open at highway speeds, especially a back one. Next time your kid does that, open yours too - an inch should be enough - and the airflow through the car will be much smoother.

This is a funny picture, but it points towards the biggest problem with autonomous cars: While driving, we often break rules. Not because we like to, but because the traffic situation demands it, like when you can’t merge onto the highway because of traffic and have to cut into the hard shoulder or when debris forces

Mr Tourchy,

What’s going on? A majority are marked as CPO but they all have under 100mi on the odometer and have no reported owners.

Auto journalists write factual articles about Elon Musk and Tesla.

Musk doesn’t sell any products, he sells hype. There’s a pretty big market for hype, but it’s got a shelf life. Better start delivering on some of these promises or eventually people will stop believing.

They’ve definitely been sitting there for years. Dealers do not have the time or willingness to ensure their stock is being started routinely. I worked at a dealership. Every possible problem was viewed with a “we’ll take care of that later” mentality.

I wonder if it’ll understeer very much....

This one inflates your floaties! How cool! I assume in the unlikely case of a water landing….

It doesn’t really matter as long as it’s not here:

Seat side, but for a different reason - The more electronics you have in the door, the more prone it is to breakage and the more difficult a door is to take apart and repair. Then again, I was daily driving a car as late as 2017 with crank windows. When the controls are on the side of the seat everything is local to

Seat-side is the only way to go. I don't want to have to contort my wrist backwards to mess with door-mounted seat controls
