Kudos to Panasonic. Managed to pull a pump and dump with someone else doing the pumping.
Just bought a 2008 Aero 2.0 Sportcombi with 82K and an automatic (sad, but true—I couldn’t find a manual in decent shape that wasn’t paired to the diesel.) Paid about half as much as this one, which I think was a good deal. But, if I could have found one this rust-free on my side of the Atlantic, I’d *absolutely* have…
This world you live in - this world of $40k cars depreciating to 5% of their original price in 15 years. Where is the door? I really need a 911 GT3 but only have $10k.
California car, desirable wagon/stick combo, new clutch and tires, excellent condition, all repair receipts, 2nd owner, decent color combo... and in this market? At least $5K and it’s priced such that he’ll probably get at least 6.
As GM employee I can tell you that’s how it is at the Tech Center campus, lots for GM, and lots for everything else. I never thought our plants were any different, but now I’m not sure.
What do they call those things? Anus wheels?
The big 3 have a long history of giving deference to union built manufacturers. This article from a decade ago shows that it was the union that pushed the directive.
That is likely correct. If that “citation” is real, it likely was created by a UAW member. The “foreign” is code for non-union. It’s UAW protecting their own.
“They should keep making small good quality 2 seater Smarts like they did 20 years ago. Electrify them, small engine, nothing special, let Brabus tune them for giggles.”
I figure employees of GM may not be able to simply switch employers but this policy is so fucking dumb, I would never work for a company so fucking petty.
In all seriousness, is it a UAW thing? I know some, but not all cars made by GM come from UAW plants and fall into the same sort of nonsense
Don’t the American brands at least offer some sort of employee discount to their actual employees (not necessarily those of their dealers)?
Steve Lehto has talked about this before - Ford calls it “A Plan” or something like that.
Seems like they should be UAW and non UAW lots really.
I’ve never understood the Foreign/Domestic lots at factories. I would understand a GM lot and an “Everything Else” lot.
This is such a ridiculous practice in the first place. If you want your employees to buy your cars, just make better cars.
I’m as excited about the prospect of an electric Miata as having diarrhea. The upside is light weight, ICE powered sports cars are about to take a quantum leap in value. Start hoarding now!
