This. I can’t believe none of the “experts” mentioned the Veloster. It’s an obvious choice.

Hyundai Veloster Turbo is pretty funky. That’s my vote. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/4eec96b3-dac0-4089-be05-cb3dfb45012d/
He specifically said he didn't need a ton of space, though. So the crossover-heavy suggestions seem a bit lifeless. A used Kia Stinger falls into that range, gets decent mileage, and is far more distinctive than any of these. Hyundai's newer sedans are offer way more style than the bland ass Subaru. Hell, a BRZ/86…
I finally saw one in real life after all this time. Ouch. It’s awful in pictures, but in real life it’s next level bad.
Right? I mean, JFC. Somebody finally tees up a Torch special, and what do we get?
between this and the escalade review that read like a 4th grader’s book report that they wrote on their least favorite subject, I don’t have a lot of hope for this being a place for good car news so much as a place to shit talk about the bad writing in the comments with fellow shitheads.
“Nothing funky on the market anymore”
Exactly. If any article needed a Citroen 2CV recommendation, it would be this one.
Torch is now sort of a manager or a lead editor so he lets the new writers run these segments, the problem is that they phone it in. This and the slideshow sections suck majorly.
I would be pretty pissed if I wrote in and got responses from the two slide show guys and the video game guy.
Why would you ever use light rail on surface streets instead of buses?
This seems tailor made for Torch. Where is the hero we need?
These are terrible recommendations. Only the i3 is remotely funky, and that’s this dude’s primary criteria.
Screw it, I’ll off-road the crap out of it and report back.
