I had to get plastic gas bags a couple of times when I ran out of gas (fuel gage showed about 1/8 tank when empty) in Colombia. It was very handy, paid about $0.50 for the bag and got a gallon or so of gas. The taxi that got me to the gas station then took me back to my car. Maybe not the safest but it was convenient…

People try that shit all the time. It’s pretty amazing. I’ve been in traffic jams where people drive up the shoulder then try to get back in.
