@Ikthog22: "Each screen has a single purpose, generally speaking. Instead of only showing the current page and no other navigation choice except Back, WP7 shows you a big scrolling navigation list at the top, which also doubles as the page title."

@Ikthog22: "To start with, I don't think Apple added folders because people don't like swiping through screens to find what they want..."

@designedbymatty: I explained it in another post, but with WP7 it boils down to this: the design encourages functionality to be hidden, requiring users to page through apps to access the full functionality.

How did this happen?

@fryhole: "Apple still has a swipe-able grid of icons, they just added folders."

@Weakskills: As someone who frequently zooms out such oversize pages until they fit on my screen (when possible), this is definitely not the OS for me.

I'm sorry, but WMP7fP still looks like an interface train wreck.

Wow, Michael has finally achieved becoming the blonde white girl he always wanted to be!

Seriously, every time I see a comparison like this, it's really obvious that the brightness on the device is turned waaaaay down. With the brightness up the only time I have trouble reading it outside is if I deliberately tilt it to face a cloud or the sun.

@legendnthemaking: I'm confused, where's the part where she sings "This is a triumph"?

@legendnthemaking: How odd. Seems like every new game manages to make my wife cry just by mentioning the release date.

@00quantameister: Actually, I think it's more about the Unreal engine. Development of Unreal engine games is on Windows. If Apple wants Unreal engine games, they're going to have to make some concessions to the developers.

@Lite: an adventurer is me!: You might get to find out. It sounded like the local government hasn't approved the burn permit that is required for the bonfire they're planning; and the local fire department is apparently planning to be 'on site' at the announced time of the burning.

Oh man, I wish I was there. That party looks like it was a blast.

@Dezerus Richardson: It does have a mic, speaker and screen though, so it could potentially connect as a blind device. Of course, if they were to offer some sort of camera device for it, that would solve the final piece.

@MauricioHavok: Apple demoed the current iPad running 4.2 on 9/1. The iPad license also states that a free update to iOS 4(.2) is part of the deal when you buy an iPad.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex probably has the most amazing infodump in the history of television. Near the middle of the first season of a show that's already maniacally info-dense, a major character goes into an online chat room to research theories of who could be behind the main criminal of the season.

There are also some nice animated choices out there.
