@TheCrudMan: OH! One other TNG moment that I always loved was the Picard Maneuver. Apparently the only time Warp speed has been used in a tactical battle in the ST universe, at least on the TV shows?

Since the guns are no longer shooting projectiles they should drop the targets and score points for 'shooting' fellow competitors. Think about it, each competitor wears an outfit which simulates injury by restricting limb movement, activated by the laser rifles and fencing foils. Now THERE'S a race to watch!
