Because in this game and many others like it, when you reach a certain skill level, it’s easy to recognize when you can come back and when you can’t. This is why when you watch pro level Starcraft matches sometimes or the other players will GG and surrender in the middle of the match. There’s no point in wasting your

6-8 days < 90 days.

Except (lets use MGS5 as an example here) I’m probably going to play the game for over 200 hours over the course of my ownership. At that point, even if I was going to sell my game (which I would not, because I don’t sell my games), I would feel I had gotten my 60 dollars of value out of it, easily.

I mean, I get the statement you’re attempting to say, but the net worth is pretty much zero. Go check eBay and let me know how much knick-knacks from collectors editions of games more than a couple years old are running for.

So what do you do when you run out of room on your desk?

And no Amazon?

Amazon doesn’t exist in your far-off land?

But they’re both worth net zero.

About as useless as a drug addiction too. Someday all that shit is just going to end up in the trash.

Amazon is a thing now.

It’s funny, because I didn’t care about WoW and didn’t pre-order it, and when a friend of mine convinced me to buy it, the only thing Best Buy HAD were collectors editions. So I ended up with a CE of WoW and the cool pets that I didn’t care about.

Because it’s unnecessary, and in pursuit of those guaranteed sales, publishers now bend over backwards to incentivize it, resulting in shit like Batman where it’s impossible to get the full game or Assassin’s Creed where you don’t even WANT the full game, but it’s okay because they sold a billion pre-orders or

As I’ve said to others, I don’t count the box of crap CEs. I want to play games, not have a bunch of junk to put in my closet or on a shelf and forget about. If it’s just digital goodies you want, well, you can buy most of that stuff anyway. I think the only Destiny item you can’t get is the Ghost shell.

I don’t count ‘box of useless junk’ editions. I’m interested in playing games, not buying a bunch of crap to sit on my shelf and forget about. I grew out of collectors editions long ago.

Well, I don’t take ‘box full of useless garbage’ special editions into account here. IMO those fall under the ‘ridiculous pre-order bonus’ category. I want to play games, not strap a hunk of plastic made in China to my wrist.

Why can you justify the cost of one useless knick-knack over another one?

Limited availability hasn’t been a real thing outside of Nintendo games for like, a decade. I haven’t pre-ordered a game since before World of Warcraft came out and I’ve never had a problem finding a copy of a game I want to play.

You got Super 2, it was called Fusion and it was an excellent game.

First of all, it’s a journalists JOB to ask tough questions.

Well, thanks for asking the tough questions, Totilo. I’m still highly disappointed, but he did sort of indicate that Sakamoto might be working on a new 2D project still.
