Thank you so much for this. The Pokemon communities I used to enjoy so much have become unbearably toxic, and for what? So you can’t feel like you’ve completed the game until you’ve done a bunch of click-and-drag from your Home boxes to your game boxes? Hard pass. This generation has (IMO) by far the best spread of

You weren’t getting Half Life 3 anyway.

What do you mean it won’t run on my PS2?

There are feather/wing items that increase an EV by 1, whereas the supplements increased them by 10.

“Dexit” is the shorthand name for the fact that not all Pokemon will be available to use in Sword and Shield, a first for the series. It’s a play off Brexit. Some people are very mad about this; some people consider it an issue that’s unacceptable because of other concessions the games make, and some people just don’t

My favorite benefit is the saute function. I can brown a roast then switch over to slow cook and put in the rest of the ingredients. It’s probably not worth replacing a slow cooker you like over, but I was in the market for a new one.

Awesome review, Gita. This is going to be the first midnight release I’ve ever gone to, and it just feels right for it to be a Pokemon game that can evoke that childlike wonder. So excited!

This is a good point I didn’t think of. I live in a relatively tectonically stable area, and we’ve still had a few high profile gas leaks in the past few years. I’m surprised more California towns haven’t banned the installation of new gas lines because of earthquakes.

I haven’t actually read the new building code as written, but I’m very much in favor of environmentally-focused policies working with as much carrot as stick when non-corporations are involved. Subsidize the cooktops, and maybe when you’re dealing with public housing give new residents a compatible set of cookware.

At this point I’m pretty much exclusively using cast iron on the stove, so I don’t mind much. And I know the cookware still gets hot, but if you leave a “burner” on by accident when you’re done cooking nobody’s going to get hurt from it, which absolutely qualifies as safer to me.

Ideally (to me) this turns into mostly induction cooktops being installed, because they’re significantly more energy efficient than both gas and electric stoves. Not to mention much safer for curious children!

The Sims is on the other list. Different strokes.

High Noon are much better (IMO, of course), but they’re way more expensive- around $10 for a 4 pack compared to $15-17 for a 12 pack of White Claw or similar. If I’m planning on a drinking session I usually go for the Natty Light Seltzers, and I’ll save High Noons for a day on the beach.

Does the US still have a 1.4 billion pound cheese surplus? Seems like we could come to some sort of agreement. One pound of cheese for every pound of person in Hong Kong (by my count, that’s around 1.14 billion pounds) if they agree to just leave them alone.

People tend to be much better about self-reporting when parts of them fall off, though.

There are a few in the US that use liquor, but they don’t sell themselves as a “hard seltzer” (in my experience, at least) and they tend to get treated differently. For instance, in Pennsylvania I have to go to the wine and spirits store to get High Noon Sun Sips, but I can get White Claw anywhere that sells beer.

I’m really bad at breading things for some reason. I’m way better at getting flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs to stick to my fingers than chicken or cube steak.

I was on the "not a meal" side for years, until I had pho. Order a large pho from somewhere then try eating something else afterward.

There was an All That (or maybe Amanda Show) sketch that involved old leftovers turning into mind controlling ooze or something like that had me freaked out for WEEKS. Unfortunately I can’t remember enough to find a clip.
