My last 2 VW’s (MK5 and a MK7), if you drive the car with A/C and recirc on, then turn off the car and come back later, when you start the car, the recirc doesn’t automatically stay engaged.  There’s apparently a VCDS coding change you can make, and I honestly should get that system... but why wouldn’t the car just…

Try turning your phone volume up while on Bluetooth.  I never would have thought that until the day I had the phone in my pocket and the volume up button hit the seatbelt and all of a sudden it got STUPID loud.  Also had the volume button get hit and it seems like the music stops... nope, just lowest volume. 

My wife’s Merc has that, so I added my own profile where it’s disabled.  Such a blast to pull up to a light in August and all of a sudden the A/C cuts out.

Didn’t write cheap, I wrote, ‘isn’t that expensive’ and isn’t ‘rich people’ territory. But considering buying incentives, lower cost of fuel and what you get for a trade in with today’s used car market, it’s a pretty decent deal.

I was able to afford a similar situation back in 2010 when fuel was skyrocketing. Considering used car prices these days, an average trade in will be worth more. With a 60-72 month loan, the incentives and that trade in, the monthly payment is $470-$560. Considering you’re not going to be buying expensive gas to run…

Hell, even a new BEV with incentives isn’t that expensive as far as cars go. A new VW ID-4 on the low end runs $42,500, local rebates and incentives pull $4,250 off that purchase to $38,250. If you have access to free charging for that vehicle, well... how much are you saving a week by not filling up with gas?…

My band actually played IN a Futureliner! The owner of Peter Pan bus lines found one in a field and had the thing restored. Now they use it for events, we were playing a car show up in Mass and it was used as the stage.

Fleet and trucking companies use these.  Drivers go do their thing during the day, fueling truck shows up at night and fills them all up so you’re not paying a truck driver to fill up those HUGE side saddle tanks.  Makes more sense if you know how trucker’s Hours of Service rules work.

Most mowers use north of 11 hp... so you’ll need to build like a mini-tractor pull truck and run 4-6 of them for maximum fun.  While that’s a wacky build for a lawn mower, and it would be stupid expensive... it would, hands down, be the most awesome fuckin’ lawn mower on the planet!

From what I’ve seen of animal strikes, if it can safely be avoided than safely avoid hitting anything... but if it’s an “OH SHIT” kinda thing, only emergency avoid hitting moose, horses and cows (at least native animals in the US, errant zoo animals that are huge may also fit into this category).
