Plenty of her subordinates knew. In fact everyone on the bridge seemed to know. Poe is an X-Wing captain, a demoted one not less, not a fleet commander. His job is to wait for orders or give advice if he’s asked. If he actually followed orders they wouldn’t be in half the messes they were in the film, but Poe

If Poe wasn’t acting like child, respected the chain of command and listened to his orders instead of acting like a self-important dickweed a LOT of the film would be different.

She doesn’t tell Poe because it’s not his job to know. Poe’s entire arc is about understanding leadership and chain of command. I’m paraphrasing what she said to him but it more or less boiled down to: his job is wait by his X-Wing until he’s given an order. Especially after he got demoted.

You likely got all the help you needed by now but for what it’s worth, my take with no spoilers: Fans are mad that the filmmakers didn;t treat certain elements with the near holy reverence that the fans had come to expect. Certain elements that seemed important are left by the wayside and the movie tries to set the

Another Tron Legacy fan! That’s all. Just pointing it out. It’s a novelty. We’re so rare. ...

Looks good, but miiiight be a little too bulky? Hard to tell. Need to see it in action.

I feel like this immediately doesn’t work if it’s Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran reading the tweets.

Damn... I’m not sure which is more torturous Ep 3 or ONE of the prequels to the Exorcist of which I can’t even remember which one it was since they made one, shelved it for being bad, released the second one they made which was so bad they took that original one off the shelf and released it too. That’s literally how

If only the writers of the EU and nuEU didn’t take that “everything has a story” bit to heart because I’m not looking forward the the trilogy of novels about how that one particular holochess board ended up on the Falcon.

I hear you. I’m trying to remain open minded though. This trailer might be trying to skew things for a general audience - i.e. more of the Alien-esque creature-feature vibe, more gun play. But I’m hoping it’s a bit of a bait-and-switch and the film will include more of the weirdness that made the book so good.

Exactly!

I love Guillermo del Toro to no end. Even when I feel the narrative falls flat in his films like Crimson Peak (saw everything coming) they’re still insanely beautiful visual works.

Well I meant thematically, but jeez I hope they’re done with planet killers. Between the expanded universe and the core films the galaxy seems to absolutely littered with planet popping doohickeys.

Spoilers would indicate it’s taking more from Return of the Jedi if anything, but it goes off on its own new direction which, as I see from reddit having a meltdown, is now *too much* change. So, you know, it’s a lose-lose for the producers of the franchise.

Not really a hot take. Just follow actual voice actors on twitter. You will see a lot of patterns emerge from their tweets or interactions with other users, particularly with amateur performers who are really miffed on the “Acting” part of Voice Actor. It seems to be a dream gig for a lot of people who then seem to

Spoilers are pouring in now and from what I gather it’s like they double-billed ESB and RotJ together as one film

Mostly because a lot of people don’t consider voice acting to be acting. Ironically it appears a lot of those people are struggling “voice actors” who can’t figure out why their careers haven’t taken off but they can do really funny voices over clips of anime on youtube they swear!

I was so excited for this for... 14 or 15 years now? And they went with 1:1 “anime eyes”? It was a bad call, Cameron. A bad call.

This is apparently not the first time Harbour has referred to himself having ‘dad bod’ at least
