I think what’s most important here is that Tim Gunn is flawless.
Godzilla DNA + rose DNA = Biollante.
The problem is you’re stating this piece of tech can never be justified simply because you’re certain it can not. It’s a poor, illogical argument. Anything - literally anything with in the realm of possibility in the physical world - can be justified, so how you can say with total certainty this can never be justified…
That’s some extreme paranoia. I was really set to explain to you how something like this could really benefit me and my health problems personally, but I realize there’s no getting around your issues of what could be classified as paranoid delusion in some circles due to extreme beliefs based on faulty logic that you…
Attack on titan is one of the worst anime I’ve sat through I’m a long time. It still shocks me how many fans there are. I guess this is the Evangelion effect. You either love it or despise it
Oh well all of whedon characters sound kind of alike. He didn’t really get to do much with character though. Sure the giant menacing robot has the same witty quips as the rest of the Avengers, but does very little of anything else. He’s basically Maliketh from Thor 2 but with Whedon dialog and a phenomenal actor in…
I felt like he got to write Hawkeye and the twins and romantic subplot. Everything else didn’t seen like him.
I’m actually not a huge fan of whedon and I’m just going by what he’s said, but I am inclined to believe him because it didn’t really feel like any of his prior works.
Whedon wanted to do a more personal film with Avengers 2 and we got a pretty messy film thanks to Disney mandates. I hope they don’t interfere with guardian of the galaxy too much. If any cast of characters need to be grown passed their archetype it’s the ones with out an individual movie for each character otherwise…
Star Wars is by no means deep and is mostly cobbled together from older movies. A lot of stuff is just scene for scene rip offs. Han Solo is an archetype rather than a character since most of star wars runs off of archetype and classic hero journey stuff. Star lord is that archetype. Rocket is that archetype but is a…
I don’t think the book (or by extension the author) really come off as pretentious since some of the strong themes in the books, and particular the Annihilation book, is isolation and detachment/disconnection. Though to answer your question on whether or not to give it (or the two books that follow) a go is to ask…
It gets a little slow at times, but it serves as a really good PoV shift that leaves you simultaneously wondering what Area X is and also wondering if Area X is any weirder than the real world it’s intruding upon. (Also I read all of them is quick succession which may alter my perception of the shift).
It gets a bit draggy before its crescendo and I think that is inherently the point as it’s juxtaposed how real life is just weird an confusing to navigate (with all the egos and agendas) against the truly alien Area X. I still think it should have been slimmed down just a bit.
See - I look at Authority as Area X starting to bleed into the real world. To me it was much more a mystery than Annihilation in that there’s an investigator trying to piece together bizarre, surreal “office politics” against the backdrop of “It’s been decades and NO ONE understands what the f**k Area X even is”. That…
It’s a good movie. It’s not amazing. The characters are a little too Firefly/If Everyone Is Han Solo Than No One Is Han Solo. Lee Pace doesn’t really do anything of note. But it at least tries to be fun without being insulting stupid like most summer tent pole movies are. I’d even say it’s better than Age of Ultron -…
Marvel is creatively bankrupt when it comes to team leaders and super scientists
There’s not a moment of Jurassic World that doesn’t look cringeworthy.
Have you actually ever read Lovecraft? Dude is not subtle about his beliefs that black people are lesser human beings in his works... It’s fairly vile.
Earlier I gave a slightly lower chance to a friend of mine at 50% chance at best that this remake would be good. We thought Rock was a perfect choice for Jack Burton. but only if they get the character right: he’s not the hero. He’s the dude who knocks himself during the climatic battle. lol
