Saying they’re relied upon far too often tells me you don’t in fact actually understand them. Trials are not a guarantee and are a huge risk. Let me give you an example of what happens at trial: hung jury because one juror “just doesn’t trust the testimony of people who work in retail.” That’s what you risk in a trial.

I don’t think you quite understand what a plea deal is. It does not mean it’s a free pass. Is it sometimes? Yes. Does it sound like it was here? Yes. Is it always? No.
