No...  the simplified menu works fine for those that have no clue.   The secret menu also isn’t hard.  3x3 for 3 patties, etc. 

And that’s the “right” way to do a secret menu for fast food.

It makes the customers feel special,  simplifies the regular menu for the indecisive, and keeps the more oddball items away from customers that might complain if they try it. 

You’re completely missing the value and benefit of a secret menu. The biggest benefit (besides letting customers feel “cool” so they return) is the “standard” menu is simplified to keep the line moving.
