I saw a Z4 outside of Starbucks (shocker) on Sunday morning and it looks so much better than the Supra.
I’ll take issue though, with your assertion that the power rating is accurate. The Z4 averaged 368 HP at the wheels, and is rated by BMW at 382BHP. 14 drive line loss is “not a thing” to use the parlance of our

It’s been months since I last read anything by Erik Shilling because he has previously demonstrated an absurd propensity to inject his far-left politics into anything and everything. Because I wanted to read today’s automotive news, I thought I would give him one last chance. Much to my dismay, he once again proved

I’ve had a lot of luck buying much older, single owner, used luxury cars. You have to have patience and be willing to travel and look on fairly short notice but the payoff is good. For example, my new DD is a 2008 E550 4matic. It’s a loaded 1 owner car that had 59,000 miles when I purchased it. The car had a couple min

The UAW is a scumbag organization that has outlived its usefulness. The UAW should dissolve and new unions (plural) should take its place. The competition of multiple unions will be better for laborers and management alike.

Take your star but give me back my heart!

I’ll say it since no Jalopnik writer will say it- this is illustrative of reason # 11,296,453 why communism sucks.

You have it wrong. Within a capitalist system, there are markets called oligopolies. Oligopolies are characterized by having relatively few participants, high barriers to entry, and the sellers are more price makers than price takers. The automotive industry is a textbook oligopoly, and Musk is finding this out the

Where do you get your drugs?

I’ve been saying for years that paying someone else to drive you will always always always be more expensive than owning your car and driving yourself. There is a lower threshold of miles driven per year, where car ownership does not make sense, but the majority of Americans require more miles than that threshold.

Answer to question 1: Save your money, pay with cash.

I understand your reasoning Roy, but consider the packaging advantages of a FWD platform. Isn’t the Continental moniker all about a spacious, luxurious, and quiet interior? And doesn’t a FWD platform offer huge benefits to those qualities? If you ask me, FWD is the way to go for luxury cars with no sporting pretensions

My dad owned a charcoal grey ‘90 continental and I’m here to tell you, that car was supremely comfortable, reliable, and feature laden. It was a very good automobile.

This looks like one of those crummy Chinese or Korean knockoffs that you see at an auto show and find out that is powered by a 2.1 litre diesel pumping out 121 bhp and 229 lb-ft. of torque.

I wouldn’t even blow $18k of YOUR money on this POS

The problem is not that the electric Smart was such a bad car (it was a mediocre car). The Smart is pretty good in a very specific set of circumstances for a very specific buyer. The business issue is that there just aren’t enough of those particular buyers who opt to own a car. Many of the people for whom Smart

Dear Mike,

You’re not entitled to your own facts, and the actual facts are that electric cars require more energy end to end that fossil fueled cars on average. Wind turbines are also energy negative over their lifetime. And before anyone hauls off on a rant calling me names and saying I’m a shill for Trump or blah

Fighting words

Most enthusiasts are all talk. We wax poetic about small pickups, turbo engine/manual trans. wagons, and 996 Carreras, but rarely buy because we’re mostly tightwads.

I gave you a star because your effort warrants it, but the old Mustang hitting pedestrians joke is just that- old!

Subaru has their intercooler setup all wrong! the air traveling through the intercooler should be going UP, since outgoing air is warmer than incoming air. GM gets it. Why doesn’t Subie? Forcing air through the intercooler with ducting or a scoop is cool, but then the warmer output air is fighting physics.
