I agree with Wolfpack86 that Subarus are under powered (2.4L turbo not withstanding) but I don’t mind CVT’s in daily driving. Honda has a great CVT.

Neutral: I sold cars through college and shortly thereafter (context: i stopped selling cars in 2013). Since then, all of my friends have asked me to come play “third base” for them and negotiate their car deals. Likewise, I do pretty well for myself during car deals. I’ll also admit that I negotiate in bad faith. On…
Ugh reading this just reminds me of the frustration we’re experiencing at our house as I try to convince my wife that minivans are cool.
I’m passive aggressive and tall, so when the person in front of me reclines their seat, I point my air vent at their head.
Disagree
This vehicle has another 60-100k miles left in it. For less than $2,000 this is the perfect vehicle for the Dave Ramsey evangelist who needs to dump their expensive payment and get into a cash car!
I see a lot of saints in the comment section of this article.
Anybody who criticizes the 996 interior should spend a little time in any Porsche that came before it. Their previous interiors were a joke.
Plus they are just as hard on the roads as the lighter weight ICE cars they are supposed to replace, and as an added bonus they don’t pay gas tax to pay for the road maintenance. In addition, the raw materials and carbon footprint of producing one electric car is enormous in comparison to a gas powered car.+
First gear: NOBODY pays sticker for a pickup. My friend bought a $48,000 pickup for $33k recently. That’s a lot of vehicle for less than the average transaction price of a new vehicle purchase.
I’m an actuary for an extremely large data company, which compiles and analyzes data for, probably all of your insurance companies. There are so many variables on car insurance rates, it’s not even funny, and this piece is a tiny and slightly misleading snapshot. Gender is actually one of the smallest pieces in what I…
I have a very bad and distinct feeling that Jeep is going to price the Gladiator too high for any rational middle class consumer to purchase.
The real head scratcher for me is why he would go to the additional effort to have the company write checks for their tuition. It had to take some maneuvering on his part to have someone cut the check and send it, and whomever sent the check knew it was wrong, so he likely had to bribe them with something. Ghosn was…
It’s fair that one of Chevrolet’s pickup motors beats one of Ford’s in one way or another. Chevy’s 2.7 is absolute crap and the 5.3 is hampered by the worst transmission programming in the segment. To be transparent, I have not driven the 6.2 and cannot attest to its inferiority in comparison to Ford’s 3.5 ecoboost.
Let’s not get carried away. Ford and Volkswagen still turn a big enough profit to draw ire from communist Jalopnik writers.
Erik Shilling I am embarrassed for you right now. Go write for Salon, where people want to read this kind of bilious garbage.
Just log it, Jim.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED WHEN RYAN HOWARD WAS VP AT DUNDER MIFFLIN!
They stopped closing stores a long time ago.
Best Buy is the counter argument for what you just said.
