Even though it's not really for converting, I find myself using Avidemux to quickly convert videos on the fly.

@Marand: I gave MyPaint a try, but wasn't crazy about the UI. Didn't realize it had infinite canvas, might check it out again.

As many problems as I have with DeviantArt they've done some pretty impressive upgrades over the years.
