Rather Unexpected

I think it would be an interesting experiment, to see peoples reactions, if you had a super-powered unreal badass woman... kicking the crap out of regular women.

Because as it stands, any time we have a badass super-powered woman, she spends most of her time fighting men, and everybody cheers as she flings the muscular

Bit longer than two weeks I think, given his girlfriend’s bump.

Also, you mention the Alien (actually Jewish) supersuit - makes me wonder where that woman is from the first game... the crippled resistance leader woman; because they got the suit *for her*, so she could walk again.

“Old Blood felt dated to me...”

See now this I find odd, when you’re calling Doom great. Doom 2016 was an antiquated arena shooter which locked the player in big rooms and spawned enemies on them, and over and over and over. It was a massive step backwards in level design, and wasn’t even like the original games.

Old

At least Warframe actually has a pretty unique art style, and tends to do more intesting things with its story.

The whole post-Halo “vaguely tropical alien planet/post apocalyptic Earth with power armour” thing has gone on way, way too long.

“Why can’t they just make that game.”

Because EA.

This has been done before, years and years ago. Does anyone remember those students who did the very same thing?

I think most people are, yes. I think it’s a very subtle gradient; autism isn’t some special, unique disorder... but rather, an exaggeration of the natural state.

Look at the success of those “oddly satisfying” videos on youtube; how people will go glassy-eyed and distracted watching a laminated box sliding perfectly

“and tracking down the license holders and discovering who needs to be paid depending on the original contracts and other legal complications can be time consuming and incredibly costly.”

So costly that a business established primarily to acquire the rights to old games and sell them to modern customers couldn’t

“That’s achievable simply by having a copy of the game donated to a preservation society.”

Again... just to be clear - unless the *source code* has been donated, nothing has really been preserved.

Otherwise it’s like saying you’ve preserved a work of literature because you have a copy of it in its original form... even

“So long as some Museum somewhere has a PSOne console locked up and a copy of whatever game you’re passionate about and bam... archive success. Preservation assured.”

Not really. It would preservation if the source code were archived somewhere. Because sooner or later, any *copy* of a game can be lost or deteriorate

“In other words, the correct financial decision for their situation was to reuse the tapes.”

No, it wasn’t. That was a shortsighted decision to cut costs in the immediate future; it didn’t actually make any business sense to annihilate the thing you spent a lot of money making. Not to sell it on. Not to convert it to

Just to give people the heads up if they haven’t tried it already - there’s a camera mod that lets you adjust every camera in the game (from exploration to combat, indoors to outdoors, boat and horse etc), and it works rather well.

Back nearly 10 years ago, when I was a student studying abroad in Southern California... I remember fondly the afternoon I spent in a Starbucks playing games on my laptop (girlfriend worked there, and I was waiting for her shift to finish).

I played halfway through Halo, then I played Defcon.

Playing Defcon, some guy

“Electronic Arts, too, has embraced the idea that video games should never stop getting new stuff...”

Um, let’s be honest. That’s not what they’ve embraced at all. What they’ve embraced is the idea of deliberately scaling back game launch content and skimping on QA so they can sell the missing pieces as an extra and

Less than people think, to be fair; given the primitive culture of the Normans compared to the people they’d invaded, and the fact that their feudal system rather isolated them, the Normans ended up becoming English rather than the English becoming Norman.

I suspect, of the French words English gobbled up, later

Oh, I dunno. I wouldn’t put it past a Bethesda game to break itself past the point of broken.

When you say “Fallout-style” do you mean “Fallout-style” or do you mean “Bethesda Open World Game-style”? Because... that new XCOM-style game about the world being covered in some creepy fog that freaky mutant monsters emerge from is pretty Lovecraftian. What was it called... phoenix something?

Also, there’s Secret

Nah man, the universe is an RTS multiplayer map. You can’t have all the players spawn too close to each other, or the game is over too fast.

Just you wait. Some day, we’ll hear a booming voice from the sky telling us to CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL PYLONS.

Heart doesn’t beat, there could be no boning... given the blood-pumping requirements of the bone in question.

You don’t know. Maybe he’s wearing socks that have “LEFT” and “RIGHT” on them?
