You are considering Christianity as a moral philosophy, but for tribal-minded people, it functions more like a primary in-group. They don’t give a flying fuck what Jesus would do, they merely use the idea of him as a psychological tool to justify hatred of Strangers or Others.

I know so many people in Texas (I felt I need to qualify that) who think that the government shouldn’t be handing out assistance to the poor. No food stamps, no homeless shelters, no food banks. That these services should all be done by churches.
This apparently includes the DOJ’s 25 Violence Against Women grant programs.
What we apparently need is these assholes to find out how much benefit they gain from these programs. And the lack of them is apparently the only way. For what will be an extremely meager (if anything) tax decrease for average people will result in massive drops of things they use every day but forget about when…
I really wish someone would ask those assholes who claim that America is a Christian nation and the bible needs to guide our governmental decisions why their policies are so fucking un-Christ-like.
