Republicans will do anything to obtain power, including pretending to be Democrats. That’s why abortion rights need to be a core value of the Democratic Party. Student organizations could ultimately affect some meaningful disruption with the divest portion of the movement, I’m not sure why you minimize their role. Divestments had a role in ending apartheid, boycotts helped power the civil rights movement, these aren’t meaningless levers - they’re very powerful tools.
