Alabama is without question one of the most racist states in the country. Maybe someone should tell you a bit more about your state. I'm sure not literally every senior citizen is racist but that was clearly hyperbolic.
If it's possible to teach or learn compassion we haven't figured it out yet. That's why there is no really effective treatment for sociopaths.
If you’re just not a compassionate person, you’re not going to suddenly have selective empathy for others even if they’re like you. If you think what you want is that much more important than what anyone else wants, then you can easily end up abusing anyone else.
