Nobody’s anywhere near perfect and all that (doubly so for execs) but I feel like Phil Spencer is not at all the worst of the bunch. Overall I think he’s taken the company in a good direction during his tenure - for both the business and the players. He’s been pretty good at balancing it.

I was mostly being flippant (GTA are by all accounts great games) but I do personally prefer SR to GTA.
It’s 100% a flavor thing so mileage will vary, but I much prefer the tone and style of humor; I find GTA unpleasant in its portrayal of people. SR is so cartoonishly bonkers that you can’t really take the characters

I’m content to just hang out on a ship and stare off at planets knowing, “Yeah, I could land there. No big deal.” Maybe I’ll build a greenhouse or something.

The correct ranking of the best GTA games is:

Gamedev Twitter seem to suggest going Godot and helping that get it’s feature suite better developed. Free and open source, and apparently very good for beginners/intermediate indies. For the stuff you can’t do well enough in Godot, go Unreal.

Me too - fantastic presentation to be honest, I’d love to be able to understand his whole talk just based on those slides! (which make his points clear enough to get the idea, but I’d love to hear his full thoughts on it)

I keep reading it as “Polonium”, which is kinda apt actually, since I’d be equally likely to want to touch either.

Doesn’t really change joke nor likely intent. They were my examples to remind people that it’s not just the kind of MP games EA do most that’s in that category. The joke can work regardless.

Look, I get the backlash: It was an ill-advised joke for all the reasons mentioned in the article.
But I also get where they were going, and I don’t think it was that “single player games are bad and single player gamers suck lol”.
They were saying that when you find a partner, it’s great when they’ll play multiplayer

Thank god for AEW.

It’s kinda funny because I played 1 and 2 back in the day, but I was never crazy about the art style, it was “fine”.
But 3 though - I LOVED it :p Which is apparently not how it’s supposed to go.

When the stated goal is protecting/benefiting the culture of an 85% majority of a state or province’s population, it is not implemented to fight racism.
It is implemented to fight influence from outside the border.

When when someone proposes a law which serves no practical or rational goddamn purpose” the answer to “why? is usually: racism.

“I know from talking to Bethesda leadership that we do not have a situation where people are crunching”

I don’t worry too much about Headcannons relationship with Sega honestly; he’s clearly decided to pour some gasoline on that bridge, right before the Chain-Smokers United conference on it. He probably knows what that means.
What worries me more, is that OTHER publishers might also take note and think “Hey, maybe we get

Idunno KOTOR was pretty good on iPad (bit fiddly but workable on phone) - is there anything in particular that makes KOTOR II worse? It’s been many years since I’ve played it.

Absolutely agreed. But asking for Martinet to get some work and recognition is not too much, and as mentioned he’s an accomplished voice actor. I’m certain he could do a severely toned down version, where he just threw in a couple of signature lines in the original voice.

I don’t read it as them being surprised that he is a gamer - they are surprised that he openly claims it.

In short: Everything I was hoping to see more of.
The Outer Worlds 2, Avowed, Fable and Everwild.

Sure, it was nice that we got some Starfield I guess.
