I’m sad to hear this news, but given the business practices that WotC has been exhibiting over the last several years, I don’t guess I’m 100% surprised. Best of luck to Larian in whatever they do next. I’ll be watching for it.

Ever since Larian’s head talked openly about all the WotC people he worked with being fired by Hasbro, I’ve known deep down we wouldn’t get a sequel. But that’s okay, I love BG3 for the story, not the D&D mechanics specifically, I’m happy as long as they keep making games!
This is a bummer but what would be cool is if Kotaku could be done with Jim Spanfeller, a man who is both an herb and hilariously bad at his job.
This doesn’t look like a how-to guide for BG3, does Spanfeller know about this?
they dont need a review, they already posted this ad for it!
Seven.... seven YEARS??
A game about using capitalism to bankrupt as many people as possible, enhanced to encourage people into going broke gambling on bells and whistles.
Says a lot about the self-awareness of anyone spending consistently on it.
And all for a game that is, to put it very simply: fucking awful.
Quick Google agrees. He does not, and effectively never did, wear a monocle.
That said, if you don’t try and adhere to what makes the original so beloved then you’re not going to make anyone happy.
Well, he isn’t wrong. You’ll never please everyone. That said, if you don’t try and adhere to what makes the original so beloved then you’re not going to make anyone happy.
Yeah that’s all true - I guess I was thinking more of the cosplayer situation.
How dare pc gamers not want to spend $500 to play a single game.
People would like to play games on the hardware they’ve already sunk considerable hard earned money into. Clear case of entitlement, obviously, for these losers to say “would be nice if this was on PC.” It’s like they’re putting a gun to these developers heads!
If they want us to play it then they should have released it on pc. I’m not paying 500$ for a new console for one game when I have a gaming pc.
Well tell him to tell them PC players aren’t thieves and stop acting like its the fucking 90s
Why any game is not released on PCs from the get go nowadays is utterly mind boggling.
I agree with your take. This is largely why “people who do the actual work” need to work with “people who engage with the community” to ensure that appropriate messages are created.
Your personal opinions on this don't matter. You don't berate your customers, period, even if they're being annoying. This is basic customer service shit 101 and the amount of you saying otherwise is sad.
I found Remake to be boring, pretentious and overblown despite actually accomplishing very little.
