Yeah, the growth was really impressive.

I can almost never watch TV live these days, but if I was watching this season live know that I would have defended Drake every week since his debut, he was great. His poor mom!

If season 3 wasn't confirmed I'd be so upset right now, that was a bananas cliffhanger.

Yeah, and it double hurts cause this last episode was the most fun she'd been yet. The actor was really letting the snark flow.

That was when I cried, Goodwin really sold his quiet devastation.

Though my opinion on S2 is mostly really positive, I just don't know what's going on with Blaine. He was one of my favorite characters before the amnesia, now he seems to be missing purpose and IMO Anders seems to be at sea trying to act out the role. Looks like they're serious about this being a permanent change,

RIP DRAKE, TOO PURE FOR THIS WICKED WORLD

Sadly he's the only other 100% confirmed writer for the season, and likely doing a sequel to the boring Sleep No More even.

I think the timing was good (maybe too late, since 7A is so nonessential) but the execution was poor. Companions should be strong characters on their own terms, wrapping them in mystery is just annoying.

In my headcanon she's still running around UNIT like a boss and hooking up with Mickey for no goddamn reason never happened.

I prefer 2 cause Ward was the sunnier one, but they're both top tier.

It was so frustrating how little they used her experience as an actual doctor.

Well I was generalizing, the other ones I listed qualify. She wasn't emotionally dependent though, that's more important.

Hmmm, yeah, and now that stories are only 45 minutes that's a problem. If Who ran a writers' room you could more easily balance it out (this is an Alice episode, next is a Bob episode), but with every writer working on their own it could get chaotic.

I think having a male and female companion gives you a good balance. Or go back to a full crew of two women and a man, giving a whole range of characters.

Speaking of S10, I need confirmation that Sarah Dollard and Catherine Tregenna are back for next year. I know Jamie Mathieson is returning and that's aces, but those two women turned in great scripts last year too and it'd be a shame if they were one and done.

I love Clara, and sure in S7 that was entirely because of Coleman, but the writing definitely seemed to sharpen up when she was paired with Capaldi.

I just hope the new companion starts on equal emotional footing with the Doctor, not just around to ask questions and be in awe of him but also equally clever and capable of getting out of scraps themselves. Donna was like that and was great. Clara was terrible until she got to that point. There's loads of great

Yes, you're the only one. I think those two episodes are meaningless, characterless nonsense.

He has things like Robot and Sherwood and Crimson Horror on his resume though. Questionable quality, sure, but they def have Personality
