Yeah, "distinctive" is definitely a word I'm looking for. Epic space action plots sure are exciting, don't get me wrong, but I've seen a bunch of those before. The thoughtful and subtextual way SU deals with ordinary life through it's sci-fi + magic fueled lens is really unique.

Was not a fan of Twilight Kingdom, everything in those first three, very long episodes plays out way too predictably, even if the last episode is great. But I've saved that for next month, since everything above was written a month ago.

He was in that miniseries on Fox that completely bombed and that half decent Fright Night remake everyone's forgotten about, what a shame.

IMO Masters pulls the rare trick of having a tighter and more fleshed out plot than Sympathy. But I totally understand Dalek fatigue.
