There is no risk involved in spending money trying to get the “good” item in the loot box/ccg pack instead of the lame thing you already have 10 of?

Depends on your definition of economics, I’d guess. I’ve never blamed lawyers and class privilege though. The poor, I’ve always assumed, simply have more incentive to commit crime, and less at risk should they get caught. And, possibly, less education on how to avoid falling into criminal “traps”. (i.e. drug

Does it matter? I see nothing wrong with convicted felons being used as slave labor for the duration of their sentence. Whether said felon is some white guy found guilty of sex trafficking kidnapped underage girls, or some black stock broker found guilty of insider trading*.

Yep, that was pretty much the same statistic I remember reading. That the U.S. alone grows enough food to feed the entire world. The problem with starvation is largely distribution.

Sure, but most CCG’s have at least been pretending to self-regulate in order to avoid real regulation, typically by attempting to make the value of the cards in a pack relatively equal. i.e. each pack having X common, Y uncommon, and Z rare cards. If the rarity is equal, the claim can be made that the value is.

Honestly, I’m not entirely sure I see anything wrong with a pregnant X year old girl marrying her boyfriend, as long as there is no shotgun involved, and the ages of the two are such that there is no statutory rape involved either, so I see the argument against a hard-and-fast “no marriage under 18".

So...

1. It is definitely my belief that digital goods can hold value. It’s still early days, but Courts in at least some jurisdictions have already ruled in that direction. (Which only stands to reason, if I pay $25 for a digital horse in WoW, then, by definition, the company has traded that horse to me for $25. And, to

Absolutely true. But irrelevant. Their value is different. PERIOD.

You’re taking a chance at getting a good card that has significantly more value, (and in the case of anything with a secondary market, actual real cash value) than other cards. Just like in the case of a scratch off you’re taking a chance at getting a scratch off that can be redeemed for a ton of money vs one that is

Another thing to point out, just because you know a guy is a womanizing dick doesn’t mean you know a guy is a sexually harrassing/raping dick.

Heed the mantra and never forget: Women. Have. Nothing. To. Gain. And. Everything. To Lose. By. Coming. forward.

I’m sorry, but my true self isn’t a sociopath. Yours, however, seems to be.

I’m no expert, but how is that even close? Last I checked pushing the ball with your arm is a no-go. It was a handball before even close to a goal.

“a right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman’s decision to have an abortion, but that this right must be balanced against the state’s interests in regulating abortions: protecting women’s health and protecting the potentiality of human life.”

*shrug*

And the value of the cards you get can differ wildly. a.k.a. Gambling. Your argument is like saying the lottery isn’t gambling because you get the ticket/scratch off card/whatever you purchased.

I completely agree they’re the same thing. But that doesn’t mean that loot boxes aren’t gambling, rather it means that CCG packs are.

CCG packs *are* real gambling.

Interesting. I typically order Papa Johns every weekend. ~4 weeks ago the delivery estimate was ~25 minutes, but took over an hour. Week after that it was ~30 minutes and took over an hour. Last 2 weeks the initial estimate was about an hour. (Previously it had almost been ~25 minutes and took ~25 minutes). Wonder if
