The truth. God, when I think back to shit that my gut instinct alerted me to as a kid, that then lied dormant for years, only to be revealed in my adult years as way more upsetting than I could have imagined... ugh.

Agreed. Being a child rapist renders null and void any good you have done in the world. There are plenty of people in this world who are likely equally talented who aren’t fucking assholes who ruin lives for their own sick enjoyment.

I’ve been there. Just take it one small step at a time and don’t be afraid to ask for help from friends, loved ones, family- whoever you rely on for support (including jez if that feels right for you). Self care was crucial for me in the early days of going back to work after my assault.

Just wanted to say I’ve been in your position as well (dropped out of college after a sexual assault, spent a lot of time behind my walls, went back to school, also just graduated in December), so congrats to us both. We freaking did it.
