@Remi - Well, I guess to start off your poll, I'm 25.

Well I need to run to chapters and buy what looks to be an AMAZING and probably heartbreaking book. Holy Crap. This looks like an awesome movie, and I hope it comes to theatres relatively soon, because I'd like to pay them for what looks to be a thoughtful, hard, somewhat traumatic but likely truthful representation

You mean this isn't a completely normal day for you? no? just me then? *Shrugs dramatically at laptop whilst looking confused beside a bunch of papers*

@DTheRPGFan657289 - that is a good damn point.

Urg. Any other aspiring fiction writers here? does this sort of scare the pants off of anyone else? I would love to be compared to Rowling, but at the same time, I would fear it a lot - one, how do you live up to that? and two, what does that say for your originality? It can be hard at this point to write fantasy YA

I think Jesse Williams would be a great casting choice for Finnick! Not what I initially pictured, but I have a tendency of imagining characters not exactly as their described, so I'm generally open to casting that doesn't fit my physical perception of the characters. Katniss certainly wasn't what I pictured in my

This is gorgeous - I've never heard Niki and the Dove before. I suspect I shall be listening to a lot more!

...And Captain America is in a dance cage. Does this give anyone flashbacks to their last night at a gay club? no? just me?

Me and Hillz? we could totally be friends. I forsee many nights of PJ parties watching silly romcoms and muppets. when you know, she's not busy running the world.

This terrifies me. I'm just so thankful Jaymisha was there to step in and save those poor kids - I can't imagine how traumatized and scared they must be. The Father is clearly mentally ill, and once he gets in his right mind, I really pity the shame and guilt he's going to feel. I hope everyone involved in this gets

I know rape is the first step I advocate when dealing with real or imagined problems. No more cereal? RAPE THE BOX! cereal will magically appear, right? no more gas? RAPE THE TRUNK! spare gas cans should immediately fill with fluid at your agressive and not at all violatory intrusion of your genetalia! Whenever I see

He's a kid. They're kids. If the team doesn't have a problem with it, if they're having fun, he should be able to play.

THIS. SO MUCH THIS.

This is a really good point - (and I haven't read the article in question) but does it mention those in the social sciences? especially when it comes to creating gripping stories and compelling characters, the most essential part (IMO) is to create a social and psychological structure for the new world (worlds?

Wow that is scary. I never thought I'd say this, but am I ever glad that the PC's got in during this last round of Alberta Elections. We're starting to get our own brand of crazy around here with the Wildrose party, to which such laws would seem kindly and good, and not at all batsh*t crazy.

Does Freddie remind anyone else of Oberon, Shakespeare's king of the fairies here? all done up in a throne in a woodland glade with a microphone scepter?

This is seriously the coolest effing thing ever! Is anyone else but me picturing a *real* star trek/star wars/ firefly style near future??? I just want to start whispering to all my cubicle mates "it could happen in our lifetime!" ....and then they'd all look at me like I'm bug-eyed crazy. As they do. ;-)

@Highsmith - it sucks that you obviously had a horribly and very scarring experience with military members, and I'm not going to deny that yes, military power structure builds in violence and disregard and enables horrible people in a variety of ways, but just like you're allowed your reality and your experiences and
