True and fair enough. It’s why those whales are so important. They are so potentially valuable that companies just weather the storm in regards to complaints and wait for everyone to just get used to how things are unless there’s some kind of organized way of affecting profit (see: D&D Beyond Subs going down and

It’s because there are so many options for live service gaming that these companies want to induce a measure of FOMO to keep you in their walled garden as opposed to other ones. They’re absolutely not concerned about potential fairness.

Just don’t buy them is how every other bad monetization practice happened and became the normal because publishers and developers court whale level spenders (i.e. small percentages of the player population anyway)

I have my gripes about toothpaste chan’s design but Three Houses was just bloated and we benefit from a more streamlined approach.

One of the key parts of NFTs is the idea that by some process which they’ll figure out as they go, you’ll be able to profit off of your NFT by having other people pay you for some sort of usage of the NFT.

Ah. Fair enough. I can agree with that.

The onus on not being spoiled is on the one not wanting to be spoiled.

It’s entirely possible to continue to avoid spoilers for the overwhelming majority of media unless someone is being an asshole and going out of their way to spoil things in locations where a spoiler wouldn’t be expected (i.e. a spoiler about the

also, WB barred anyone from Netherrealm from interviewing with the author, namely Boon, which is unfortunate

That’s totally fair. I guess I was thinking of the benefit of not needing a further purchase beyond the game but that’s not really anything.

S-E: “Got it. More NFTs and milking of FF7"

Fuck me for wanting to give you my money for a game on a platform I already own that has shown it as a platform is interested in JRPGs especially of the scale and scope that FFXVI is likely to be.

Exclusivity sucks (even the ones that might benefit me)

It’s the reason I told the dealership to take off their branding from my car as I was driving it off the lot. Unless we’re in some sort of media partnership where you pay me to advertise, no thanks.

I hope the pushback continues so it doesn’t become a new norm

There are a lot of people behind NFTs in gaming that absolutely see this as how people reacted to microtransactions or, more broadly, any sort of contentious development in how gaming is consumed over the years.

That is to say, if they push hard enough, ignore enough of the criticism and keep making it a thing, people

This is a ponzi scheme. It by nature requires new people to come into the system so others can get pay outs. You absolutely have to try and get new people in.

I agree that no one should but he as part of the company needs to try and convince more people to join.

I understand that these comments are intended for people whose main focus is ROI re: their investment into a particular company but it’s always gross to hear CEOs give voice to the idea that the only way for any company to move forward is unsustainable quarter after quarter growth and the path there requires resorting

“With the budget given, it doesn’t feel ethical to take this project,” they tweeted. “The time it would take for a WFH assignment from such a high earning game where I can’t even sell prints would barely leave me with a living wage.”

That maybe so, but have you considered Funko Pop! #4564322345 is for sale there?

You’re right but I suspect also that for gaming specifically somehow people saw massive, unprecedented spends on video gaming and the sphere around it during the height of actual lockdowns back in 2020 going into 2021 as some how indicative of how the market would look like for years to come so you get a lot of
