There was a highly upvoted post about how if someone saw their teammate with a santa skin they would actively mess with them, teabag them, smoke their position and take their vehicles.
Like, I don’t like the skin either but touch grass, man

But the shaky foundation established by Battlefield 2042 definitely needs fixing first if it’s going to act as the so-called “cornerstone” of this new universe.
Ron Burgundy: I don’t believe you
For all my many gripes with the game, I have had some legitimately fun moments.
I can feel that. I don’t play much Breakthrough because it can be a bit too chaotic for me (Rush even more so) but I can appreciate the way it funnels the action.
I like Conquest because of how many different ways and paths there are to take objectives and travel through the map but 2042's maps can tend towards being…
Conquest, the marquee mode, remains an underwhelming and chaotic mess. The new maps in general aren’t great at funneling opposing players into interesting showdowns.
I beat the game and it was just fine. My rig could handle it and it looked beautiful while playing the game. The story was alright but the world was just flat.
They mentioned setting the standard for what next gen open worlds could potentially be and fell short of even the current standards set by Rockstar. Not that…
People like winning. Some fraction of that group of people like winning at any cost. Some fraction of that will pay to win at any cost especially if they notice other people raging about it. It’s not necessarily about fun but about being able to lord over other people who are powerless to do anything to you.
It’s a sad form of trolling. You’re making other people powerless to your tools and they can only rage about it.
Yup. It seemed that something happened towards the end of the BF1 dev cycle that caused a lot of talent to leave the studio. They seem to have been stuck staffing up andtraining people on the headache that Frostbite is while at the same time being responsible for the ongoing dev of Battlefield V and 2042 and…
Frankly I’m surprised we havent heard that they are axing Kinja and shifting discussion to discord or some shit
Or Dead by Dragonball
They’ve launched like this for the last decade. BF3, BF4, BFV and now BF2042 all launched with a level of polish that suggested that they could have used like another year to cook. I don’t recall BF1 being such a clusterfuck but the product at launch also felt like they actually spent 3 years developing that one. Who…
DICE is responsible for their own work. We have seen from the exposes on Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem by Jason Schrier that more often than not EA is really hands off with their studios. EA has time and again seemed more than willing to allow their studios to do their thing unless that studio is completely clueless
…
I’ve played since BF3 launch and DICE just does that all of the time. Each game will have a bunch of great features that they reinvent for the next game for some fucking reason or just scrap something that was working. It’s super frustrating.
Without piling on and also stating that I’ve had some fun with 2042: DICE forgot a whole bunch of things that probably should be in the game. Eager to see what their first statements post-launch will be about the state of the game.
Oh, I believe it. I have a secret: I’ve been playing since the launch of BF3 and I think BFV represents the most hours I’ve put into a Battlefield game. I loved 3, 4 and 1 but there was something about V that clicked with me.
I can play some mix of the Pacific Maps, Provence, and Twisted Steel on Conquest or…
I saw a clip of someone doing that from one of the skyscrapers on Kaleidoscope (? maybe? I don’t know the maps well at all). Just fly over to the top of an osprey, drop C4, fly off and then detonate. One of those only in Battlefield moments.
True. I played it since launch and it was rough, frustrating road to the game that BFV became.
BFV is getting all kinds of praise I didn’t think it ever would on the 2042 subreddit.
