Agreed. I’m normally a “respect all facets of car culture” sort of person, but anyone who rolls coal deserves to have their truck crushed by a tank with them still in it.

Ehh, I wouldn’t worry about it. Crossovers like the Outback are the closest thing you can buy to a wagon nowadays. It’s still a car, just a slightly taller one.

The vast majority of sports cars aren’t driven like that. From what I’ve seen, people in sports cars are usually more careful than anyone else because they don’t want their baby to get scratched (and because they know fast-looking cars attract cops’ attention). If someone does weave through traffic at 90, they get

Yeah we do, and it’s fucking dangerous. Ever see those videos of a semi pushing a smashed car sideways down the road for a mile because the driver can’t see it and doesn’t even realize it’s there?

Honestly, I think it’s quite irresponsible of Tesla to let consumers use this tech before it’s fully developed. They’ve seen the idiocy that humans demonstrate when presented with something called “autopilot” - you’d think they would have learned their lesson.

What are buses then? Genuinely curious.

I really like this idea. One of the problems with speeding fines is that rich people tend to see them as the “price” of speeding, so they speed anyway and happily pay the fine. It becomes a case of “stop or I’ll say stop again!” In a capitalist society where the same amount of money means wildly different things to

All right, you’ve got me 90% convinced. I guess I always thought there was more fundamental difference between a car and a truck than there was between coupes, convertibles, sedans and wagons. Those are all sub-categories cars, and a truck... is a truck. There are sub-categories of trucks too, right? Single cab, club

It just makes me wonder about the definition of a truck. Except for the bed, the Dakota and Durango are the exact same vehicle, but according to Torchinsky, one qualifies as a truck and the other doesn’t.

What about pickups that share platforms with SUVS? Am I to understand that a Dodge Dakota is a truck, but the otherwise identical Durango is a car?

It sounds like gears to me. Motors by themselves make almost no noise. The only metal-on-metal moving part is the bearings.

Production EVs don’t whine like this. Race cars have straight-cut gears and almost no sound insulation, so they make a lot of noise, but the electric cars you can actually go to a dealer and buy are almost silent. Highways will be significantly quieter than they are now when the majority of cars are electric.

I love that it sounds like an R/C car. That’s the sound of power being transmitted efficiently to the wheels, which means you go faster. I hear exhaust sounds and just think “imagine how much better this system would be if all that energy went to actually moving the car”.

I’ve seen tons of people on here rant on souped-up crossovers. I’ve even done it myself once or twice, although I’m finally starting to come around to liking some of them. The Macan is a genuinely great car, and I’m really looking forward to that Ford Mach E thing (although I still wish they’d make an actual Mustang

Electric motors can make some really high-pitched sounds for a given RPM, but what you’re mostly hearing in this case is gears.

Why wouldn’t you? The guy’s walking around with no head - he’s got to be expecting people to be interested.

For once in my life, I agree with Patrick George. Challenger R/T is the way to go here.

I feel bad for the kid and all, but... you guys are seriously treating the fucking Daily Mail as a legitimate news source? They’re well known for spreading false news, propaganda and sensationalism. They’re basically Britain’s version of Fox News.

Fantastic write-up! I love this car even more now, and that green... hnnggg. Me likey.
