On a lesser note, that reminds me of a guy I met years ago who had a Nokia phone and swore it was indestructible. (In fairness, he was probably right). He demonstrated this by tossing it in the air over his head and letting it fall to the ground repeatedly, and then showing me excitedly that it wasn’t broken.

Miata is always the answer!

It was a decent EV. Very quick, handled pretty well for such a tiny car, and acceptable range for the time (about the same as a first-gen Leaf).

Now that they’ve rebooted everything else from the ‘80s, when do we get a new Knight Rider? Hasselhoff keeps saying he wants to do it, and dropping hints in interviews. A couple of years ago, James Gunn was totally ready to direct it. There’s a surprisingly big fanbase to turn to for story ideas.

I think people love wagons because you have all the interior space of an SUV with none of the handling downsides. It drives like a sedan, but you can fit a lot more in it.

I’m starting to see the new M crossovers on the road. They are utterly ridiculous.

It’s possible to protest without damaging property. Blocking off a street is acceptable. Smashing the cars on said street is not.

One of my favorite Top Gear episodes had a challenge with one of these. They tried to make it as fast as an Evo around the track for half the price. I can’t find a clip, but it had some classic Clarkson/Hammond/May moments.

Dear “environmentalists”: this is not how you make a statement. This is not how you get people to listen to you. This is not how you make change.

I always had Trump pegged as more of a Hummer guy. Orange and hideous on the outside, nothing of value at all on the inside.

Mr. Tracy, I don’t feel so good...

How exactly do you drive a 1927 Model T?

The only reason would be for people who enjoy driving manuals and shifting gears.

Parks & Rec is good as well. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is even better, but I think it’s only available on Canadian Netflix.

Now playing

There’s always Need for Speed. It’s not a great movie, and I sometimes get the feeling that the director secretly wanted to make a Smokey & The Bandit reboot instead, but it’s no worse than most of the Fast & Furiouses. It has Koenigseggs crashing into each other, Hummers flipping end over end,a Mustang drifting

I’d watch the heck out of the first one.

A dealership near me has one with $90k on the window sticker. Granted that’s Canadian dollars, but it works out to about 70k USD. Still a lot.

They actually did do a Buick version. Unfortunately, it’s only available in China.

What’s hilarious is that, even though the Bolt is ugly, it’s one of the better-looking cars in Chevy’s current lineup.

I wanted one until the Hyundai Kona Electric came out. Now I want that instead. Seems to be a slight improvement on the Bolt in every way, with no real downsides.
