I always weirdly liked the B13 (1991-94) Nissan Sentra. It’s so unapologetically dull and utilitarian, and yet the proportions and lines are still visually pleasing. It’s a piece of plain toast, but at least it’s a nice crispy one, if that analogy works. (The sporty SE-R trim is the equivalent of spreading something

Well said. I wish more people looked at things the way you do.

I don’t think it’s ugly as such, it’s just... over-designed. The body lines can’t just be lines, they have to scream “Look at me! I’m a line!” Oh, and the wheels are way too freaking big. They make it look like the world’s most expensive Hot Wheels car.

I’ve lost track of what you’re responding to, but I will always star that gif.

Counterpoint: no no no no no.

Green and tan is always acceptable.

Forget the soft top for a moment - that picture is really confusing me. The steering wheel is turned about 80 degrees to the right, but the front wheels are turned to the left. The front wheels aren’t turned far enough for the steering wheel to be turned 280 degrees to the left (unless these Mustangs have a ridiculous

Yeah, you might be onto something there. 2F2F is not exactly a cinematic masterpiece, even by the F&F franchise’s low standards. Every single one of them has a lot of “eye candy” women characters who add nothing to the plot.

I’ve noticed that too. 60 mph in my dad’s pickup feels like 40 in my hatchback.

That is a bit of a stretch. More likely, the script writers knew that teenagers were more likely to see a movie that had the word “ass” in it a lot.

A certain segment of ‘Murican culture seems to be weirdly obsessed with torturing and destroying cars.

Didn’t he also crash a Fiata, or was that someone else?

Yeah, I have an older Leaf and, while it’s nice enough to drive, the lack of battery cooling does come back to bite you in the ass. My car is 7 years old and only has about 70% of its original battery capacity remaining. I’m lucky to squeeze 100 kilometers out of it.

This is why I really wanna get into the DIY EV world. There’s a big community of people swapping electric motors into cars and basically building electric hot rods. Jalopnik should really do an article on it at some point.

Someone please digitally add the minivan to this:

Because they also make the Grand Caravan as a separate vehicle.

I like both cars and Cars, and the F&F movies are pretty disappointing. The best I can say for them is that, technically, there are a lot of cars in them.

Not all of the benefits. Most PHEVs have very little electric-only range, nowhere near as much as a proper BEV.

The Ram is the only one of those three that looks even remotely good. The Ford isn’t awful by truck standards, but it’s not great either. The Silverado is just a disaster.

It’s not fuel economy that’s tanking Silverado sales, it’s almost certainly styling. It’s never been a particularly pretty truck, but the new one reaches heretofore unseen levels of hideousness. People aren’t buying the Silverado because they can’t bear to look at the damn thing.
