Fellow Naval Aviators thought EMALS was a terrible idea when we first heard of it years ago, and it remains a terrible idea. Steam cats have been perfected, and now we get the iPhone catapult so we can have a few less sailors on the ship. Now you have a cat system susceptible to EMP attack. It’s delicate, and overall

I’ll start with this: I don’t watch NASCAR, and I’ve tried a couple times. Not my thing. I’m into most other forms of Motorsport though. This, even though Ricky Rudd is a cousin. Anyway....

All Naval Aviators go through extensive survival swim training. Including a mile swim in flight gear. And it kinda sucks :)

? You can see water come out of them in the video. I’ve never seen “sticker” brake vents on a Corvette.

Since the owner added C5 ZO6 rear brake ducts to a non-ZO6, front mesh, rear wing, etc... I’m gonna assume he added a cold air intake as well. That helped this chick maximize the amount of engine water ingestion.

Everything built by Pur Sang Argentina.

Owned it 1999-2002. I got it with 42,000 miles for $13,500. It was a 8.5 to maybe 9/10 car. Searched for months to get a deal like that. Did the 60,000 mile service myself (clutch sucked). Sold it when I found a 1978 Minerva Blue 930 with Butterscotch sports seats and full leather. Should have never sold that 930.

Had a 1988 944 Turbo S in college. You could feel the increased drag when you popped the lights on the interstate. Above about 120 mph, they wouldn't come up due to the weakness of the popup motor.

Exactly

Heresy. Thought provoking. Well done.

Cool stuff. Have a coffee table with F/A-18 tail hooks for legs. Also nightstand made from an EP-3E windshield and main landing gear wheel. Out of the country, or I would take pics.

A plane ticket out of that city

Did Pebble once. Haven’t gone back. Monterrey Historics and even Goodwood is great if you can make it across the pond. I prefer ruining my own slicks on a roadcourse over all of the above :)

One of the reasons I roadrace/track day sport bikes.

Reminds me of the Tom Wolfe episode on “Unique Whips”.

Well said.

We need more political posts on Jalopnik

Members of the House of Saud. That's standard behaviour.

They are all the right way, just as long as there is a stick and 3 pedals.
