Shot the shit with Magnus at Amelia for at least 20 min. He’s real. Great human being!

“It has the same amount of soul as a new Ferrari or 911.” Having driven all 3 recently, gonna have to disagree. Any modern Ferrari, and GTS/GT3 have much more soul than the GT-R
Early 745 Series BMW. All of the complex
Immediately take it over some sweet jumps.
“This is exactly why I will never buy new and why depreciation and market value guide my decisions.” This ethos has allowed me to purchase many Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini models over the years without burning through gross amounts of cash. I’ve lost very little to depreciation overall. I’ve made money on…
Possibly lightning. Called down from the heavens by the owner of a failing business to collect insurance? Pretty common where I grew up in South FL. Don’t know about there.
What is this ‘carb cleaner’ you speak of?
Makes me feel better about the $350 I drop on slicks every 2 track days on the Ducati.
Ah, the counterpart to the EP-3E I flew. Interceptions were always... thrilling
I enjoy riding on dirt, but it certainly is not just as fun as roadracing/track day on a liter bike. Not even close.
“Watch the most valuable... DUBSTEP”. No. Awful. Remove that noise and you have a good clip.
My Fathers 1957 oval-window Beetle in Agave with ragtop sunroof. Porsche 356 Super90 engine and brakes. Not safe in any way. But, man it’s sweet.
Inconel is an outstanding alloy for specific high temp applications. It’s been used in jet engines I’ve flown, and the reactors of the USS Enterprise I cruised on. A UK company made an exhaust for my Ducati 1098R out of inconel, and it makes 5 bhp more than the finest one on the market: The Akrapovic full titanium…
FN builds a fine weapon. I keep a Five-seveN loaded with Elite T6 in my truck. Anyway, for 3 I use a ATEi modded M&P9 Pro, a LaRue PredatAR, and a Remington autoloader. The equipment isn’t very important when you are first starting out. Just use what you have. Time on the course is your biggest asset, just like track…
“If Ducati wants to take a crack at that market it doesn’t bother me any more than Honda selling the Gold Wing alongside the CB300F. And realistically, I tend to think more money coming into the company from a mass-market thing like this would translate to more extreme machines on the other end of the spectrum.” This.…
No issues so far. The 3.73 gears, sport mode, and the 5.0 are a great combo for battling Houston traffic. Most weekends it’s pulling a boat, motorcycle trailer, or crammed full of gear for 3-gun shoots. This is my justification (self delusion?) for “needing” something this big/inefficient. Cheap gas doesn’t hurt…
Have a tri coat white 2015 King Ranch that I had to order because I wanted the 5.0. Very happy with the purchase. That being said, if I didn’t have ‘A plan’ plus .mil discount, and the $1000 voucher Ford was mailing out... I don’t know if I would have bought it. This way, I am doing ok on the depreciation curve
Sold my ‘78 930 in Minerva Blue with Butterscotch full leather and sport seats not too long ago after 13 years of ownership. The only automotive home run I’ve ever hit. Pure luck
I like the flex and give the steel trellis frame on my 1098R has while leaned over. The suspension does little during this phase, as the load and thrust vectors are on a different plane. Most of the “suspensioning” is done by the frame. It really gives me good feel at the track. I found the Panigale too stiff, and I…
