I think my old 1978 Porsche 930 qualifies. It was smoothed out a bit when Ruf did the BTR upgraydde to it. That’s upgraydde with 2 D’s for a double dose of this pimping.

Had a 996TT I bought when the economy tanked in 2009. Recently sold for a profit. Anyway, I did the GT2 clutch mod early on, and it was well worth it. Just a FYI. Also, I lucked out with the coolant fittings. Never had a problem, but I saw a guy lose his coolant first session of a 2 day track event in his 996TT. Dude

Impressive. Most impressive.

Bet that will make my Alpinestars Race Replica leathers look cheap by comparison

“This isn’t hard.” lulz

The 911 had a torsion bar rear suspension from 1963-1989. It accumulated most of its victories during that timeframe. Nothing wrong with that variant of independent rear suspension.

Agreed. I have derived the most pleasure from the least forgiving machinery. Doesn't matter whether it was road racing a Ducati 1098R, flying a F/A-18, or driving a LaRue rifle

No. The 911 has never had a swing axle suspension. You must be thinking of early 356

No. It’s winning record in everything from roadracing, rally, and drag racing means it was not flawed. The 911’s record of victory speaks for itself. The rear weight bias is why it was able to accumulate those wins. If average people who can’t drive hurt themself in it, then oh well.

It’s huge amount of wins by definition mean it was not a flawed product. Saying “from the beginning it was a flawed product” is just an emotional declaration with no evidence to support it. It’s commonly alleged “engineering defect” the rear engine design, is the precise reason it was so successful.

All evidence to the contrary. The 911 and its variants are one of the winningest competition designs of all time. All of this illogical 911 hate comes from that moron Clarkson. He is fun to watch, granted

No. Have had several, including a 1978 930 Ruf BTR. It was epic

F-35, Littoral Combat Ship, any 4 door Porsche

Love the idea on expanded two-wheel coverage

Got to toss few unopened Coke cans into the stream of engines on the stand in blower over the years. Always neat to see it instantly disappear

Ouch. I saw a guy wad a Carrera GT at a Porsche track event. He was ok, but I had to hold back the tears. That thing is ultimate. Made my 996TT seem like a Dacia Sandero

Being active in the warbird community, I can say you have several options. Most are relatively and surprisingly “cheap”. This is due to their ravenous thirst for fuel. A jet warbird usually costs much less to maintain than a piston one. L-29, L-39, T-38/F-5, Mig-15,19,21, and big money Alpha Jet, SU-27 and A-4. One of

That’s a Porsche wheel, brake, and intercooler. Not much else recognizable. I think it’s a 997 GT2RS. Pity.
