I don't really have this problem anymore. I do research on games prior to buying, because I HAVE bought games that haven't panned out well. As another commenter made, I can't usually afford to just 'dump' a game. And I certainly don't quit a game forever because of something trivial out the gate.

Is it just me, or does this look like what a Final Fantasy MMO SHOULD be?

At least it isn't a zero division, or else reality might implode.

On top of SMT: Nocturne and the DDSs, I'd also throw in Wild Arms: Alter Code F as at least an Honorable Mention. It wasn't just a remake, it was a total revamp of the original that went beyond faithful and gave a solid classic a new edge. It was fun, challenging, and extremely well paced. Yeah it was annoying getting

I have to agree. And while I usually do prefer the tortured-soul-turning-evil-ish vs. just violent-sociopath, I'd have to say that Kefka being the 'just plain bad' villain is somewhat refreshing, ironically. Especially post-FFVII where everything had to be oozing with broodiness - in FF games and elsewhere.

Is it just me, or does the guy in the brown suit look like he could use a V8?

I know its been like a million years xD Sorry for the extreme lateness and random timing of this reply.

Its not so much a 'jRPG' thing as an 'RPG' thing in general. Yeah, it does seem that they have a different thought process into approaches to games, but ultimately what makes a game great, where ever it's made and whatever genre it is, is a strong balance of all elements.

Maybe this Qi Baishi was the Chinese Agnes Nutter?

Of course its well loved; great story, solid strategy and a great job system, and decently difficult (until you know how to use the system to your advantage). It ruined all other strategic RPGs for me until I played the PSP version of Let Us Cling Together. The FFTAs were decent but paled in comparison to this solid

You aren't born unique and special. You have to work and find a way to make yourself as much of one or the other (or both) in whatever way you want, or can. Preferentially in a way that at least doesn't harm more than help, but nobody's perfect.

That's both hilarious and creepy for some reason o.O

Wooooow. Howard and Nester. Shit-iness aside, this was a nice stroll down memory lane.

Of course I've seen it, in IMAX 3D. And that sounds more like an argument against over-CGI'ing movies in general, which I do agree with. Does it make a movie 'like a video game'? If you want it to be so, then yes. But it is an over-used technique that, while driving the production costs through the roof, incidentally

OK, fair enough; video game site, video game comparisons. And if I was watching the Hobbit at home on my own TV and perhaps using a game system as the player, then MAYBE I might see how 'watching this movie is like a video game'?

The general impressions of FFXIII I've gleaned have ranged mostly from 'okay' to 'lackluster/meh'. So it seems that they're doubling down on it instead and trying to force epicness upon it.

FALCOOOHN—PAUNCH!

It's snacktime for my facemouth! Hm, this is all hungry food. Where can a champion find something to eat?

I'm all for decorative food art n' stuff. But when they can get it come out the other end still looking like this, THEN I'll be impressed.

I think I can speak for most people when I say WHATS GOING ON?!
